See the polling I referenced earlier. The thing is, the election picture in which you have about one third of the population that will normally vote Republican, about one third that will normally vote Democrat, and another third who don't know what the hell they want and wishy wash back and forth. The reality appears to be that if Trump were the Republican nominee the overwhelming majority of the wishy washys will go with Clinton. Trump would get trounced.

And if he runs third party? Lights out. It'll be even worse.
I don't disagree with your logic but I think that due to the weakness of the Rs field the donks will get most of the wishy washys regardless of who the Rs pic and regardless of whether the donks nominate Bernie or Clinton. For a party that keeps telling us they're still relevant because congress and ****, they seem to be having a real hard time finding a candidate with both a clue and a name anybody can remember. And, well, I think its you that has been telling anybody that will listen that the Presidential election is little more than a popularity contest. So from here it doesn't look very good for the conks whether you're right, or whether you're right..... :thumb:
I'm calling BS.

Hillary will see some serious attrition in wishy wash votes from Obama simply because of her personality. The question is whether she will pick up enough women voters to compensate.

Bernie's socialism is appealing in theory but the possibility of actually putting it into practice will turn off many of the wishy washy votes as well.

More like the tens of millions that will be spent portraying him as the second coming of Joe Stalin... Bernie may be a little early but there is no denying that there are a shitload of people who used to have a piece of the American Dream that are beginning to figure out that they don't have any skin in the game and likely never will again. That will change the way a guy looks at things...

Bernie isn't a little early, he's late. Socialism of the kind he espouses is a failed ideology (see USSR, Greece, Illinois, etc.). I will admit that the system we have now is not working as well as I want it to but going to a failed approach of bigger government and centralized planning/control is not the answer. Let's look forward rather than backward to find answers.

Bernie advocates Soviet style socialism? :suspicious:

I don't disagree with everything Bernie says, investment in infrastructure being a good example but there is a lot that I and I think a lot of others will oppose if he gets more traction. He advocates for a government that can solve peoples problems and make everyone's life better (i.e. equal/fair outcomes). This approach requires big government with central planning which is very similar to the Soviet model. Equal/fair outcomes is not realistic, the government should focus on opportunities not outcomes. If individuals have access to a good education and take advantage of it to succeed, great. But it's their problem if they don't take advantage of it and don't succeed. America needs to take steps to continue to be the land of opportunity but a larger government dictating results on the federal level isn't the approach that is going to work. Use the power of the federal government (tax incentives), the states as micro-laboratories and the capitalist market to encourage innovative solutions. Smart state and local governments will adopt what works and the country will be better for it. An over-reaching federal government leads to bureaucracy/inefficiency and bland, homogenous solutions that don't improve the overall quality of life. We're better than that and we can definitely do better but we need to focus on giving people opportunities not outcomes.

Well, Trumpster really handled that Univision dude yesterday, didn't he? As soon as Don's goons escorted him out of the meeting room, a Trumplodyte in the hall told the dude to "get out of my country." Yup, Team Brown is fully on board!

I'm a bat-shit crazy Liberal - how dare you insult me with your moderate talk
and how could I predict the awesomeness that is Donald Trump
Seriously - the guy is f*cking fantastic - If I wasn't compelled to vote for the Jillster
I'd be all up in Trumps hairdo STAT

:kisswink: Hugs..?

Voting for Jill already pisses many of my friends off
so a vote for Trump would send them into apoplectic shock

I think Klam Dipper likes to go dressed as a Moderate because it pisses off john Stwrong.. (and you)

However:
I am NOT moderate
Just because I like the 2nd amendment the way it is - does not necessarily make me a moderate
and just because I honestly believe we DO NOT need to do anything with our taxation system
and that we generate HUGE amounts a revenue that we simply need to learn how to manage

Pretty much everywhere else I'm straight in the Liberal Loony Bin
Tax Churches - Yes - they are businesses
Free abortions at the airport - Yes
Hire more EPA agents - Yes

CID likes to define things. Opposing views that don't fit HIS reality (we all have our own) are disturbing.

By Spokane standards I'm liberal because I don't hate government enough (although I hate it plenty). By Seattle standards I'm moderate. By American standards I'm also moderate. I hate government but appreciate its luxuries.

CID is begrudgingly pro choice, has no problem with "fags marrying", and like me is a fan of Pat Buchanon on foreign policy.

So there's all that!
