Trump is a Democrat Plant

Post by JohnStOnge »

At first I was stumped. Why would Donald Trump be running for President when he knows he's got no shot at winning the office. He's got too high negative rating. Around 60 percent say they would never vote for him (http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the- ... g-for-him/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

Then I had an epiphany. The situation is clear. Polls suggest that some Republican candidates would have a shot against Clinton. Trump would get trounced. Also, Trump could screw the Republicans up by running as an independent. So here we are with the Republicans with a real shot but if Trump gets the Republican nomination OR if he runs as an independent they have not shot.

This article has the polling telling part of the story: http://news.yahoo.com/trump-leads-repub ... 58501.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The polling data suggest that Clinton would absolutely crush Trump. But that's not all. Sanders and Biden would also beat him.

Meanwhile, the cited polls show Bush and Walker in a dead heat with Clinton head to head without Trump in the race. But if Trump gets into the race as an independent Clinton crushes THOSE candidates too. That part of the story is told by the article at http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/20 ... a_spo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

The only impact Trump can have is ensuring either by getting the nomination or by running as an Independent that the Republicans have no shot and he's got to know that. Clearly he wants the Democrats to win.

Or you know...the democratic process allows people of all walks of life and ideas to run for the executive office. I mean, God forbid we ever have more than two candidates seriously run for President!

Honestly, it seems more like a party issue if you can't contend against more than one opponent at once.

Read an editorial today, can't remember who it was by but they summed it up pretty well. As people understand Trump better they will lose interest. But the reason Trump is doing well in the republican polls is that a large number of "republican" voters don't like the republican party or republican politicians ;)

I think Trump NEEDS to contend against more than on opponent at once. I think, for instance, that Bush and Walker for sure would beat him by a pretty sound margin if you were to poll all likely Republican primary voters/caucus participants and give them just two choices like Bush or Trump, Walker or Trump. I suspect several other Republican candidates would beat him a head to head poll as well. Like I think Rand Paul would. Probably Marco Rubio. Maybe Kasich.

I don't think so. I think they don't like the Donks and, right now, Trump is the loudest voice of the opposition.

The thing is polls 5 months out from the 1st primary, and close to 11 months till the primaries are over, are just like preseason football polls, worthless as titties on a bull. Now your football polls are less worthless after 1/4 of the season & after 1/2 the season. After 3/4 of the season (in Nov) they have some validity. Well we've had about 4 month sof this primary campaigning with 5 months to go until the 1st contests, & then 6 months of primaries (although it may be over in 3 months). I wouldn't put any validity in any polls (Donk vs donk, conk vs conk, Hillary vs conk) until early next year, because most of the GENERAL PUBLIC won't start paying attention till next year. Early next year these polls will have some validity.

If you're talking about the poll testing thread that's not what I was getting at. What I was getting at is the fact that the Democratic Party is the Party depends on getting an overwhelming majority of the vote among the LEAST informed and LOWEST IQ voters. And that's just the truth. I a poll test were implemented it would help the Republican Party and hurt the Democratic Party.

That doesn't mean there aren't some people that make one shake their head among people who vote Republican.

There is something to that but when a person is as well known as Trump is and 60 percent of the potential voters are saying there's no way they'd vote for him the handwriting is on the wall. He can't win. He's got a very low "ceiling." There's not going to be a situation in which a substantial number of that 60 percent who say they wouldn't vote for him under any circumstances are going to change their minds and vote for him. Not going to happen.

Trump 19, Walker 15, Bush 14, Carson 10, Cruz 9, Huckabee 6, Rubio 5, Paul 6, Kasich 3, Christie 3, Perry 3, Jindal 1, Santorum 1, Fiorina 0, Graham 0

Latest Wall Street Journal NBC poll. Trump 19 Carson 10 Cruz 9. for better or worse that's 38% of the poll that says they don't like typical republicans. Throw in Paul who is losing some of those credentials and you are up to 44%
