I actually wouldn't mind seeing the Southern State legislatures all vote to declare secession. This time say that the United States isn't following the Constitution anyway and we're sick of it.

I don't think the North would invade this time. It'd be really interesting to see what would happen if the Southern States all got together and did that. Just say, "We're sick of your crap and in particular sick of what the Federal Judiciary has been doing. It's time for us to amicably part ways. You live the way you want to and we'll live the way we want to."

It'd hurt me personally from an economic standpoint but I'd still be fully in support of the country splitting at this point.

We'd be fine. We'd control the mouth of the Mississippi River as well as the Texas, Louisiana, and Gulf of Mexico oil resources (what's now "Federal Waters" would be "Southern Waters.")

If we could separate amicably and say we will co exist, trade, etc., but we would control the society we live in without interference from what now constitutes the rest of the country while what now constitutes the rest of the country could do that same all parties would do just fine.

You really, really don't know me. Yes, it is true that having Louisiana alone or the former Confederate States separate from the United States would hurt my personal financial interests. But there is absolutely NO doubt that if such a movement were to get started I would support it. There are times when certain things are more important than your personal interests of the moment. If, for instance, there were a public initiative in Louisiana where the people could vote for Louisiana to leave the United States there is absolutely NO doubt that I would vote for it. None.

The South is good at two things: resource extraction and agriculture. Like a developing country. The South has been gradually changing... but, if this hypothetical had the South seceding in the near future - they'd be left behind in the dust.

Texas could carry their own weight - but, they would either 1) dominate the new government or 2) just have their own independent country. Probably the latter.

And, also, in this scenario - it's not going to be the same states in the Confederacy. Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida aren't seceding. It would only be the shithole states like Alabama and Mississippi... along with Texas to subsidize them. Though, like I said... Texas wouldn't go for that. They'd be independent.
