The National Institute of Health is biased sourcing. Okey dokey.

I'll run out tonight and see if I can locate a mary-jee-wawna user as I have no experience in dealing with substance abusers.

Thankee for settin' me straight, Bozz.
"These findings are consistent with the idea of marijuana as a "gateway drug." However, most people who use marijuana do not go on to use other, "harder" substances. Also, cross-sensitization is not unique to marijuana. Alcohol and nicotine also prime the brain for a heightened response to other drugs32 and are, like marijuana, also typically used before a person progresses to other, more harmful substances."

What does NIH say about alcohol then? I didn't say it wasn't reputable, I said you look for specific shit to support your case and minimize everything else. So what do they say about the stuff you use? Any ill effects?

Early exposure to cannabinoids in adolescent rodents decreases the reactivity of brain dopamine reward centers later in adulthood.28To the extent that these findings generalize to humans, this could help explain early marijuana initiates’ increased vulnerability for drug abuse and addiction to other substances of abuse later in life that has been reported by most epidemiological studies.29 It is also consistent with animal experiments showing THC’s ability to "prime" the brain for enhanced responses to other drugs.30 For example, rats previously administered THC show heightened behavioral response not only when further exposed to THC but also when exposed to other drugs such as morphine—a phenomenon called cross-sensitization.
More Klam contextual editing.

One more time.

The point is that marijuana IS NOT a benign drug without harmful side effects, not that alcohol and nicotine are in any way "better" than marijuana.

But I guess reading retention debilatation is one of those side effects.

Sure thing, Hippie.

As soon as the Open Society manipulated MSM stops sprwing pro-pot propaganda, I'll let it go.

What's it like to wander through life without passion and commitment?

Sheet-splitting and asking others to compromise their beliefs is the behavior of sheep.

Just in case you haven't figured it out yet...Homey don't play that game.

Once pot is legal then its effects will be easier to study - scientists will be able to get their hands on it without all the red tape.

Then we will be treated to the astonishing revelation that breathing smoke into your lungs is actually bad for you

(But only after lefty America sees their beloved industry snapped up by RJR and Joe Weed (Joe Camel's cousin) peddling the stuff)

The thought of D1B going down to the local 7-11 to buy a pack of his favorite Ganjaboros for twenty bucks alone is worth any cost of legalization

Don't get me wrong- I'm all in favor of legalization. For literally every reason I can think of-

I just recognize pro-pot propaganda for what it is

Once it is legal we will then begin the long 50 year march to it taking its place alongside tobacco and alcohol as a substance that has limited health benefits in its recreational form

Or are you suggesting that we will suddenly be seeing THC pills for glaucoma sufferers so they dont have to suffer the ill effects of inhaling smoke?

BTW dont think for a second that homegrown will be an option once Lorillard and RJR get in on the action. Why do you think nobody grows their own tobacco?

Huh?
Just about every farmer around here grows their own tobacco and smokes it. (Selling it, that's an entirely different matter.)

The medical benefits are impressive and we've only scratched the surface with reasearch in that regard too. And yes, delivery systems have already made the inhalation point moot except in the case of chemo treatment where the benefits of smoking outweigh the risks.

You could be right regarding homegrown but it's a different era now and the addictive properties are different. Weed is relatively easy to grow in multiple zones and requires very little land. How about tobacco?

If that's your bag I'm fine with it. They were not probably penning the tunes while on that one though. You can keep trying to link pot to the other drugs but it makes you look like an idiot dude. Stop. It's fucking pot.
I think you missed the point, but yes, many musicians were high on things other than pot while they wrote their songs.

I considered pointing out the obvious, but it's so much fun dancing the potheads in circles with nonsense debate.

One, I don't smoke pot. I'm just not a fucking hypocrite. I also never said shit about musicians not doing other things. I had no idea I needed to say they used pot and then list the litany of other drugs they used.

You are getting your ass handed to you by everyone that is not a hypocrite. Hell you admitted as much in your earlier post when saying it isn't about comparison to alcohol being as damaging. I guess if you have your fingers in one business it's much more palatable to you. The only tool you have left to use at that point is hypocrisy so it's understandable...but you are a hypocrite.

You MUST be a pot smoker, because you clearly have difficulty understanding fundamental logic.

I would be hypocritical if I faulted marijuana while rationalizing a drug of equal or worse nature, like alcohol, something I have not done.

EVER

If you were actually following this thread, you'd find I have repeatedly stated my purpose is to dispel the THC fugue induced notion that marijuana use is a benign, harmless recreational practice with no ill effects.

And BTW, D1B, Cleets hasn't cleaned anyone's clock with his "pseudo-intellect by laissez-faire" political viewpoints.

Hypocrisy is hard to follow. That's you problem Mr. Logic. You make little sense. You have gotten your clock cleaned whether it sits well or not.

You are faulting THC while having no problem with alcohol. Hypocrisy, plain and simple.
