Just because we have gained rights that should have been given to us in 1865, you think things are great. Just because I have a great life and trust me I do. I will continue to fight for men, women and children in the inner city because they did not choose to be born to sorry azz parents. They do Jacked upped things because they were taught this. Just like some white people in South Carolina defending that Flag of traitors.

Just look at the inner city in the North,
Bad school system
Bad government
Bad public safety
No Job growth
Generational poverty
Now it the South we have it a little better, however, outside of Atlanta, GA and Prince George's County (MD), tell me a city were Africans Americans enjoy a good life?

No, you're right. People don't choose to be born to bad people (white, black, whatever.) But that's a separate issue. You assign guilt to modern white people for the sins of people that have long since died. The Bible teaches forgiveness AND states that the son shouldn't be punished for the sins of the father. Quit putting the problems of black people on white people. People have to take accountability. I know the world isn't fair and that's blacks still get screwed over, but compared to 1963, it's gotten better and it will continue to get better. The culture of blame has got to stop. I didn't enslave anyone. My family never enslaved anyone.

How effective was the NAACP boycott of South Carolina in 2002 over the flag? Not very. I'd argue again that race relations nationwide have deteriorated since then, and at the highest level in my memory right now.

Personally, I don't think something as simple as a flag causes divisiveness - sure, it's symbolic for some, but most of us don't pay it much attention. Take the flag down and you'll still have people who will wear it on a t-shirt, bumper sticker, you name it. It just seems to me that our society has become so pro-political correctness that nothing can be said or done without offending some group of people and apologies are issued right and left. I'm no fan of this president for a lot of reasons (none of which are his mixed heritage) but I think race relations have drastically deteriorated on his watch.

No. For instance, it is not fair and just to deny White students admission to particular institutions of higher learning to make room for Black students who are objectively not as qualified by inventing the idea that Black students become more "qualified" by virtue of contributing to the "diversity" of the student body.

Don't even go there with crap about the society not being "fair and just" to Blacks. This society is currently bending over backwards for Blacks. It's investing all KINDS of effort to try to "raise them up." You own a business and you had BETTER hire enough Blacks whether objective competition results in that or not. So on and so forth.

And we all know it's true. Don't EVEN try to argue otherwise. We all know that there is constant scrutiny on the matter of whether this business, this area, this whatever, has sufficient "diversity," And we all know that "sufficient diversity" is basically code for "enough people of color."

If societal views have shifted and the majority of SCers think the confederate flag represents evil, then it should be perfectly fine to take it down? You'd be ok with it 'cause it's the will of society, correct?

ps. I don't know what % of SCers actually think of the confederate flag. You say it's the minority that don't like it, but do you have data to back it up? Considering 30% of the state is black and assuming most of them disagree with the confederate flag, you'd only need ~30% of the rest of the SC population to disagree with the flag in order to have a majority that disagrees with it.

I don't disagree with you. It's a piece of fabric. However, it's been hijacked by groups like the KKK and by monsters like Dylann and what was a symbol of pride became a symbol of hate, fear and violence. Remove it from the grounds. But it won't do anything to prevent future acts of violence. Walmart announced they won't sell clothes with the flag on it. That's a business decision but it doesn't mean that white supremacist peckerwoods are going to be more peaceful and open minded.
