Nebraska Says No to Death Penalty

Post by GannonFan »

Good riddance. IMO, let people rot in Supermax prisons for the rest of their lives. At least that way we never execute an innocent person again.

Executing people who live in Utah should actually be seen as a humanitarian gesture. :kisswink:

An Omaha cop was murdered by a suspect last week. Fortunately the perp's life was ended. But I wonder if the outcome on this would have been different had the perp lived.

On a related note I've been waiting for all the whites in Omaha to start rioting since the white, female cop was shot by a black man.

Heck, to quote GannonFan, living in Nebraska is equivalent to a death sentence!

I should be able to opt out of paying for life sentences. I don't want my tax dollars wasted there.

Well, you can't opt out of whatever amount you're already willing to pay to execute a person (all the way from conviction to numerous appeals to decades in prison leading up to the execution, to the execution itself and to the legal drama over whether it's constitutionally viable or even accurate enoough. Once you subtract all the costs associated with execution from the costs for life sentences in SuperMax you're not going to be opting out of a lot of money.

Hey, then clarify the point, you're the one who introduced opting out of paying and tax dollars. If it's not about money, don't bring up money. :thumb:

You are a sharp guy GF and it was you making the point about saving money, its not about that I dont want to pay for people to be in prison living better than most of them did previously. I dont want them to have healthcare, I dont wantt hem to have TV and access to books. Why should my money be spent on criminals to enhance their lives? I want my dollars going towards killing the ones that need to be off the street forever and just like my thoughts about our military, spend whatever it takes to end them.
