Dear American Conks...

Post by kalm »

Forget about gay marriage and universal healthcare, evolve, and win.
But what they all show their American counterparts is that the fear of a “tipping point” beyond which a state plunges into socialist dependency is utterly misplaced. Countries with universal health coverage, for instance, can be hospitable to conservatives—if conservatives can resist the impulse to repeal that coverage. It’s the resistance to the program, not the program itself, that sinks conservative hopes. Politics doesn’t tip. It evolves. And winning conservative parties evolve with it.

WAFJ! Trollmeister klam posts thread from reliably Donk rag Atlantic to prove conservatives can "evolve" -- by becoming more liberal! And I read it, and it was tediously and tendentiously predictable.

David Cameron is philosophically akin to that Utah guy -- what was his name? Got co-opted by Obama? Huntsman?

He's decided to come out of the closet and get in touch with his inner hard core progressive.

It's safer than playing "dress up" moderate and getting whipped like the family mule

Americans are more progressive than either of the two parties, even ignant South Carolinians.
