Oh, I get that. That's why, as mentioned by one of the others in this thread, there ought to be a second game. But I guess they're too busy buttering up the Mountain West. Surely it couldn't be the WAC or the Sun Belt (Idaho and NMSU), right?
Relax, the Causeway is on regional TV and I don't think we have to share those monies with the rest of the BSC like the Root games are. Root doesn't have a CA presense, so they will always go after the mountain and PNW teams.
Fine. But that doesn't explain why they won't show Sac vs. MT/PNW teams:

As shown above, this is the reason why ROOT won't show Sac vs MT/PNW teams - Sac State has to compete with the Montana schools those weekends. The truth is that the rest of the Big Sky Conference can't compete with the ratings that Montana and Montana State bring to television for ROOT Sports. So unless your team is playing either Montana or Montana State, chances are very likely you won't get any air time.

BY the way ISU is starting a new marketing plan and will be giving away free stuff at all home games. THis is what will be given away at the ISU Montana game.

Not quite. It's that AND the fact that ROOT won't show more than one Sky game on any given weekend. They have contracts with other conferences that they feel are too important.

I've seen this idiotic comment twice now. If ISU were able to beat all those teams (they won't) then why the fuck would that matter one way or the other to Root? It wouldn't change one thing about the viewership which is all that matters. Your record against all those teams listed isn't exactly scary anyway but whatever.
The reason is pretty fucking clear. The teams with the most games carry the weight of the conference, that's just a fact slick luther so stop whining and start saying "thank you" to those of us providing the welfare for your ass. You can still go out and get your own TV coverage and add 80% of what you bargain for into your pockets ON TOP of what we give you via the Root contract. Don't worry the Montana and MSU games will be televised and although it will be our own local broadcasters that probably pay for that tab too your school will still receive the lion's share of what our teams fans have built for you...which is local TV that is willing to pay a handsome price to show our games when we are on the road.
Fucking welfare recipients whining all the time gets old.
ISU and Cal Poly should definitely be on there and I hope I get some other coverage to check out their games.
Being someone who deals with BIG TIME/establishment media ad buys, I concur with these notions!
Of the Games that are shown on ROOT, how many do you watch, that DON'T include your team. Fact is, most CATS and griz fans will watch the games that the other is playing in. If the griz are on TV while the CATS aren't playing, I always watch (hoping they get destroyed). Same goes for griz fans that watch the CATS. You have a built-in double fan base for every game but one. So you think ROOT is going to take TWO of the biggest fan bases in FCS away from watching their programming?

This is a good point. To be quite honest, if given the opportunity, I would tune in to 3-4 MAX! Its tough to say how important many of these games will be down the raod, but not many have a must see-vibe (but see MSU-EWU, UM-MSU, etc.) for folks in ID, ND, OR, etc.

And to that point...EVERY CATS and griz game is a must see for both fan bases. Sure we are rooting for whomever is playing griz, but we all watch. If Idaho State fans would watch every game they and Weber was in, then ROOT would look at that and say "Hey, these teams toon in every time" But they don't, and MSU and UM does....
