Eight Women Still in First Ranger Class

Out of 20 women who initially qualified for the Army Ranger course, 19 actually started, and eight remain after the first week. The pass rate at this point is fairly close to that for men. Typically, about 45% of students pass; in THIS class, the rate is about 48% for men and 42% for women. The vast majority of those who fail historically fail PT testing during the first four days.

Interesting gear list for the women. Included is what they call a FUDD: a Female Urinary Diversion Device that allows them to whizz without worrying about privacy. I wonder if Elmer had anything to do with that.

Women who successfully complete Ranger School will receive a certificate and be awarded the coveted Ranger tab. They will not, however, be assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment, which is separate from Ranger School.

So this is a complete waste of taxpayer money.

If I were in charge, I'd be encouraging (and training) as many female types as possible.

We don't have to use them as Rangers/SEALs. Certain skill-sets and 'talents' would be quite useful in other areas of gov't 'work.'

That's why the military has certain standards. You pass the physical (and other) tests and you graduate. You fail and you go home. There's really no bias involved. Now, if they lower the standards for women, then that is a different debate entirely and a legitimate one.

There are obviously women who can best the overwhelming majority of men with respect to certain physical challenges. For example: The women's world record in the 100 meter sprint is 10.49 seconds. Obviously that's faster than over 99.99 and a bunch of other 9s men could ever run it.

But there is also no doubt that, on average, men are way more "physically" capable on average than women are and that we've entered an era in which we are more interested in making sure that we have "diverse" representation in terms of sex in any given area as we are in making sure we have the most effective unit.

I think the same thing is true of race, by the way, as long as you're not talking about something where "under represented minorities" aren't "under represented." So we're not concerned if 76% of the NBA is Black even though Blacks are only 13% of the population but we ARE concerned if 4.5% of those receiving Engineering degrees are Black because they are 13% of the population. That sort of thing.

The point is that we are in a time in our history where having the most effective unit is not really the objective. The objective, instead, is to have a reasonably effective unit while also making we have sufficient "diversity" in terms of both sex and race. And "diversity" is code for "having enough Blacks and other under represented minorities as well as enough women."

The fact is that these women in the Ranger class are simply window dressing. They aren't real Rangers. Call them the Ranger Model Squad...nothing but poster material for the men to use for masturbation.

Can you imagine one of those chicks being sent on a mission where they had to swim across shark infested waters...and they started their period? Her screams of agony from being shark bait would be heard by an enemy patrol and the real Rangers, men, would get killed.
