I have to admit

I am really enjoying watching people essentially claim that it is perfectly OK for the country's top diplomat to accept millions of dollars in "donations" from foreign governments (many times in the form of $500k speaking fees for her husband) while she is actually in office.

And then deny that there is any appearance of impropriety. If this was a Bush people like Jon would be foaming at the mouth.

I've got to hand it to the Clinton though- nobody and I mean NOBODY else could pull the stunts they have in the last few years and still be a frontrunner for a presidential nomination. It speaks volumes about how far we have fallen.

As much as I agree with the general disposition of your post...
I think there are a whole bunch of folks who could pull off the same (or worse) in the face of the public
The reason I believe this is because I see people - lots and lots of people
who will vote for whoever the representative that becomes the "face" of their party

The idea that we have a battle between good and evil
Right vs. Left is why things like this can happen
If there are only two choices then no matter how wrong those choices are - you must choose one

Give Congress time. They will screw everybody that has a Roth. There's going to be too many untaxable dollars sitting there in 20 years. It won't be "fair" that people that saved money get to benefit from it. Only the "rich" could save money in a Roth. Just look at the chosen one's proposal to tax 529 college plans.
