ROOT SPORTS Announces 2015 Big Sky Football Schedule
http://www.bigskyconf.com/news/2015/4/2 ... 54719.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
DIRECTV SPORTS Networks and the Big Sky Conference announced its telecast schedule for the upcoming 2015 season with a total of 10 games to be televised on ROOT SPORTS™. This will mark the fourth year of a multi-year partnership between DIRECTV Sports Networks and the Big Sky Conference.
All 10 Big Sky Conference football games will be produced and televised in high-definition, with many of the games available in both the Northwest and Rocky Mountain Regions.
"We are extremely pleased to continue our strong partnership with the Big Sky Conference, and we look forward to another entertaining and exciting 2015 season," said Mark Jorgensen, SVP/General Manager of ROOT SPORTS. "Big Sky football has enriched our collegiate programming and given our viewers the games they desire."
This year's schedule opens with a special non-conference matchup between league rivals the Eastern Washington Eagles and Montana State Bobcats on Sept. 19 in Cheney, WA. Eastern Washington is the three-time defending Big Sky Champion. After advancing to the national semifinals for two straight seasons, the Eagles failed to accomplish the same feat last year losing in the quarterfinals, but they look to redeem themselves and make another run at the playoffs this season.

Stoked that Montana gets 5 games this year. Sucks for most of the rest of the conference who only get 1 game, but that's what you get when Montana and MSU have the largest fanbase. ROOT Sports knows these two schools will get viewers to watch games.
Maybe this will motivate other BSC schools to do something about getting more fans to attend home games.

Meh…most everyone else is located near competing FBS/NFL teams. Montana’s…not so much.
No double header games this year…weak…and CP got the shaft again. Looks like Root soured on PSU this season; I recall them having a few games televised last season. Not sure what Root was thinking with that anyways, PSU just doesn’t draw.

ISU got screwed. Maybe Root sports did not want to show UM, MSU and EWU get beat in Pocatello.

Do Idaho cable stations even get ROOT? I'm pretty sure that's the basic reason why they hardly show the California teams. Montana does get ROOT and ROOT knows the Montana teams will watch.Sapper wrote:ISU got screwed. Maybe Root sports did not want to show UM, MSU and EWU get beat in Pocatello.

Disgusting. UM/MSU get five games each, but Sac gets ONE after the noise the Hornets made last year?
I wouldn't be surprised if they cut us off altogether after we spank the Kitties.

Re: ROOT SPORTS Announces 2015 Big Sky Football Schedule
It's ALL about the ratings. Hate to break it to some of you, but Montana and Montana State drive the viewership for the BSC on ROOT Sports. Without Montana or MSU in the BSC, there would be no ROOT Sports and most likely no other regional TV presence. When you have fan bases as large as the Montana schools, you're going to get the TV air time.

Oh, I get that. That's why, as mentioned by one of the others in this thread, there ought to be a second game. But I guess they're too busy buttering up the Mountain West. Surely it couldn't be the WAC or the Sun Belt (Idaho and NMSU), right?Get'em_Griz wrote:It's ALL about the ratings. Relax, the Causeway is on regional TV and I don't think we have to share those monies with the rest of the BSC like the Root games are. Root doesn't have a CA presense, so they will always go after the mountain and PNW teams.SuperHornet wrote:Oh, I get that. Re: ROOT SPORTS Announces 2015 Big Sky Football Schedule
I've seen this idiotic comment twice now. If ISU were able to beat all those teams (they won't) then why the fuck would that matter one way or the other to Root? It wouldn't change one thing about the viewership which is all that matters. Your record against all those teams listed isn't exactly scary anyway but whatever.Sapper wrote:ISU got screwed. Maybe Root sports did not want to show UM, MSU and EWU get beat in Pocatello.
The reason is pretty fucking clear. The teams with the most games carry the weight of the conference, that's just a fact slick luther so stop whining and start saying "thank you" to those of us providing the welfare for your ass. You can still go out and get your own TV coverage and add 80% of what you bargain for into your pockets ON TOP of what we give you via the Root contract. Don't worry the Montana and MSU games will be televised and although it will be our own local broadcasters that probably pay for that tab too your school will still receive the lion's share of what our teams fans have built for you...which is local TV that is willing to pay a handsome price to show our games when we are on the road.
Fucking welfare recipients whining all the time gets old.
ISU and Cal Poly should definitely be on there and I hope I get some other coverage to check out their games.

ISU will win the BSC. Vs simulator agrees only game ISU loses this year is to BSU. Going to be funny when Root sports does not show a game from the team that will win the BSC. BY the way ISU is starting a new marketing plan and will be giving away free stuff at all home games. THis is what will be given away at the ISU Montana game.

You do realize that the Vs Simulator is using statistics from the 2014 season to predict "2014" outcomes, right?Sapper wrote:ISU will win the BSC.
