Atrocious outing by Hamels - the Nats have zero offense & they shell him. Time to wake up Cole...

He's just sad he's still here and not in LA with Jimmy or even San Diego. I think he's tired of the East Coast. Of course, if we could enough of value for him we would be glad to part ways with him.

Nah, way too many people looking over that train wreck - the Phils would love to get that many people.

Howard finally hit HR #1 in game #14. :coffee:

So did Freddy Galvis.

I dropped Utley.

1 good game every 2 or 3 weeks isn't going to keep him on my team

He won't see anything to hit batting in this lineup.

As bad as Ryan Howard is & the flack he's getting, it pains me to say but Chase Utley is having a much worse April. I hope to heaven he can start playing better but he's right around the .100 batting mark & his fielding helped cost them a game last night, just dropping a perfect inning ending throw on a force play.

Charles Barkley was right, Father Time is undefeated.

That 8th inning last night may have been the most brutal Phillies defensive inning I've ever seen. That kid Herrera is a butcher in CF. :ohno:

Well, at least he's been promising offensively. He's actually a shining star in an otherwise bleak outlook.

And to add to what BHBK said, yeah, time to close the curtains on Utley as well. He and Howard should both be gone sometime this year, and it doesn't even need to be a trade somewhere. I remember when Schmidt knew his time was up and just up and up retired early into a season. Maybe these guys need to do the same.

I remember Schmidt retiring like it was yesterday. Such an honorable, emotional event.
Mike Jack Schmidt wrote: ''Over the years, I've set high standards for myself as a player, and I always said that when I couldn't live up to those standards I would retire. I no longer have the skills needed to make adjustments at the plate to hit or to make some plays in the field and run the bases. I feel like I could ask the Phillies to keep me on to add to my statistics, but my love for the game won't let me do that."

Two straight bad home losses to the woeful Marlins. The Phillies can't hit, pitch, or field. Guaranteed 100-game losers who will set all-time CitBank low attendance record.

This. Better for these guys to walk away with dignity of great careers versus embarrassing themselves for a pathetic team/organization.

Hey, my son just got to see Ryan Howard double his home run total for the year in person for his birthday. :thumb:

Howard hit #3 yesterday. Will wonders never cease?

Still below .200 BA though. And Utley is closer to .100. :ohno:

And it's all due to the pitching. Dead last in the majors in HRs, and near the bottom in BA.

That's the biggest difference for the Twins.

Batting numbers are nearly identical to last year (though slightly better). Last years offense was pretty good. Not great but slightly better than average. The pitching is significantly better right now though and it's showing. Just 3 games out of first, 4 games over .500 and 20-9 after the 1-6 start

6 in a row? Unbelievable. I even heard this morning that the trade market for revere is heating up.

One of the hottest prospects in baseball tearing up AA Reading in Aaron Nola.
