Okay while our Federal government was suing Microsoft in 1995 for monopoly practices
They were suing them because Microsoft had ZERO LOBBY presence in Washington and told the Federal Government to basically fuck off... (interesting to note)
All while this was going on...
The cable industry was lobbying hard for money to build out the USA total infrastructure
at that time there were some 50 plus major cable carriers
SO between 1995 and today the US tax payer spent $50 Billion dollars to buy the worlds greatest hybrid fiber network in Earth...
What the cable companies have delivered for their FREE NETWORK was the 26th ranked QOS network
and they still get about $2 Billion a year of free money to finish the job
3 years ago
The Cable carriers decided to charge more to companies that competed against them
because there was nobody regulating their FREE network

The problem with cable is that out of the 300 channels I have, I only watch about 30. Why do I have to pay for channels that I will never watch? have a plan were you can pick any 50 stations for 39.99 a month. But that's too much like right.

Wait, are you saying that America has a couple of companies that benefit from American tax dollars paving the way to their profitability?Chizzang wrote:in about 18 months the answer to that question will be COMCASTkalm wrote:Who does the internet belong to?

Shocking!
Round up the usual suspects!
Let's see, we use our carriers (paid for by our tax dollars), our warplanes (paid for by our tax dollars), our soliders (paid for by our tax dollars, and whom we we send out to be killed), our bombs (paid for by our tax dollars), to pave the way for the oil companies. And we do the same thing so that we can get our hands on other valuable commodities, so that Microsoft and Googlicious can have phones and computers built with cheap overseas labor so that everyone can purchase items that enslave them to the interweb.
We prop up gas prices, and food prices, with special interest Ethonol, we spend our tax dollars for a water supply to support some West Coast hippy farmers...and their megacorporation brothers, we...
Oh wait, you were saying something about spending tax dollars to help corporations make profits. Carry on.

Our Federal Government is a monopoly. And you have absolutely NO choice as an individual with respect to giving it the money it wants from you.
