The actual failures don't bother me anymore. If anything the WH has proven that it can screw up on a grand scale and the world continues to turn.

What I DO like and pay attention to are the WH and State spokespeople. You couldn't pay me enough. They defy even Shakespeare's attempts at describing toady liars. I am sure they scrub nightly with a stuff bristle brush to get the scrofula off

I'm ok with Yemen, or any nation, failing. This is what happens when we take a hand off approach...and I am perfectly ok with that. Unless a failed state is going to happen on our boarders, then it's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not going to buy into the fear/warmongering associated with these failed states. Just look at all the ISIS/ISIL fear threats if you want a good laugh. Still waiting on all those tanks and light artillery they had to start rolling across our southern or northern border. :coffee:

We somehow survived the loss of Somalia, so I guess we'll get through this.

But if Mexico or Canada suddenly failed, would Obama lift a finger?

What if Iran's youth rise up again suddenly. Which side would Barry take before his nuke agreement gets forced through?

From what I've read, Iran's youth today are way different and more liberalized than those of the 1970's.

A coalition of Arab nations led by Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes against military bases held by Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen early Thursday, as Iran warned that Riyadh was taking a "dangerous step."

Our enemy, Iran is fighting ISIS which is funded by wealthy Saudis who are allies while Saudis bomb Yemeni rebels supported by Iran which are enemies.

Sounds like win-win to me. We keep selling F-16's to the Saudi's and keep our troops out of Yemen. Finally, someone else is policing the Arabian sandbox besides us. :coffee:

Is the fact that Iran supports the rebels playing in our decision to do nothing? We may just not want to do anything to tick off our new Mid East BFF.

Seems like Iran is involved in a couple proxy wars, almost as much as we are. We both don't want to get our heads lopped off or burned at the stake in the case of ISIS.

Barack Obama wrote:This strategy of taking out terrorists who threaten us, while supporting partners on the front lines, is one that we have successfully pursued in Yemen and Somalia for years. And it is consistent with the approach I outlined earlier this year: to use force against anyone who threatens America’s core interests, but to mobilize partners wherever possible to address broader challenges to international order.

I'm going to venture the thought that Obama was using Yemen as a success story to his strategery vs terrorism last year as a basis for using the failure word. You know on account that the president fled and the country has collapsed under terrorist control.

No. All I mean is don't point out shit saying it worked, have it fail, and expect no one to remember what you said.
