He gets in. If he's a drunk asshole, I don't even acknowledge his presence. If he persists, he gets a beat down. It's a real simple process. I imagine with the police, its similar, but with more restraint before moving into phase 3.

Bounced at JMS & Blue Foxx Winter-Spring of 1996 (As I recall was Tulley's until around 93' then Blue Foxx around 93'-late 90s, then became Highlawn Pavillion in the late 90s. Now its something else.

-Place next to Dukes Plaza late 98'-99' (forgot the name of it, no longer there, closed around 2000 I think).

I only worked some Tues & Thur nights at JMs (the big JMU nights- can't remember if both nights were dime drafts) and wasn't always at the door. Worked a lot of Wed at the Blue Fox (their big weeknight) and a lot of Saturday nights at either JMs or the Blue Foxx (Sat nights townies both, and oftn bad crowd at the Blue Foxx). Same 2 guys co owned both.

It wasn't dime pitchers at JMs. Dime drafts- ten 10 oz plastic cups of Beast Lite for $1 (Pitchers might have been $1, don't remember). That's about $1.50 in today's $. Think it was from 5:30-7:30. Or maybe it was from 7:00-9:00, then regular prices (which were still cheap).

ABC put an end to dime drafts in 97' or 98', I think. Said JMs was charging too low a price for beer. Owners sold it around that time to one of their managers. Bar was facing a litany of ABC charges at the time..

Chicago is corrupt through and through. Bar owners not the least bit worried at the time of getting checked. The more young, reckless drinkers inside, the better.

I'm not a fighter. Think people appreciated the slack and didn't wanna get 86'd so they behaved. The threat was the other older patrons, not me.
