It's really not that big of a deal. It's the hypocrisy that amuses.
What amuses me is the looking for something like this to be a hypocrisy. Trying to find anything and everything that one thinks will make an institution that they don't agree with look bad. I absolutely think the church is mostly full of shit as I've made clear for many years and also absolutely do not believe in god. Doesn't mean I need to make up controversies about shit in my head over something like this was all I am getting at.
Chizz's post was good. Hence the "Nice work" reply. Nothing about my position on the matter leads to not jiving however which is why I asked what you meant. Still don't get it but as you said it's insignificant.
Let's say I needed help. You as a friend offered me help. I continued to not take you up on the help and in fact started causing you and yours some trouble. Would you not want to end that portion of my selfishness if you could? You sure as hell would. It doesn't make you an asshole either. It makes me the asshole whether I have the excuse of mentally unstable or any other myriad of shit wrong with me.

The Catholic Church bilkes billions of dollars a year from taxpayers and donors/morons with the promise that a certain percentage will go to help the poor, in the spirit of the gospel message of Jesus christ. Unlike the fathers of the church today who predominantly serve the moneyed class, Jesus is famous for helping the "poorest of the poor." Bums, lepers, whores were his targets, hence the moral obligation to help those people.
If they tried, which they probably did, with no remedy, then they could have called the police or those worthless Knights of Columbus fucks, you know their official security arm, to guard the entrance and things would be fine. It's what any reasonable person would do and do do. You really think bums don't do shit like this at other places?
But they didn't, some fucking mean-spirited fucktard, like you?, came up with the brilliant idea to spray them with water and therin lies the primary issue- the method.
You're usually pretty pragmatic and level headed, but you let emotion and hatred of bums cloud your thinking and you're essentially defending lazy thinking.
(Got no problem with the church on this issue. They do much good work with the homeless. It's the only decent think about it.)
