You say that like its a bad thing. Actually it is the only good idea they've had in 40 years.
I will admit that I never have liked this "Homeland Security" thing and coming up with sloganistic names that sound like something out of "1984." I have indeed always thought we over-reacted to the September 11, 2001 attacks. Went WAY too far with the JUST KEEP US SAFE crap.

When I wrote for my college newspaper back in the day we used to get the Cuban propaganda Newspaper Gramma. I swear when I see some of the sloganistic stuff that comes out of our government after those "9/11" attacks it reminds me of that.

That would probably work, too, except for those that didn't even come into being until DHS was in existence.

I'd STILL rather have USCG in DoD, though. The statutory provision to move USCG from DOT (or DHS) to DON under war conditions is kind of hinky, IMO. It would be MUCH easier just to have them either as a separate department under DOD or as a portion of DON with the Commandant as a member of the JCS (like the USMC).

The Senate democrats few years ago used the nuclear option. McConnell could have done the same thing with the House bill to pass it in the Senate and at least force Obama to veto a bill that fully funded DOHS. But no. McConnell, Bohner, and 1/2 the other Republicans in Congress are a bunch of f'ing pussies. I knew they'd fold... :ohno:

Yes my wife, who is on the Louisiana State Republican Central Committee, is going to start a campaign to send John Boehner as well as their own Congressman if he was one of the ones who voted for a "clean bill" sets of balls. She wants have people put two little balls in a little padded envelope with a note saying something like "I thought you could use these." In fact she just came in and said she's going to the Dollar Tree to buy some balls to send.

I agree with the sentiment. There are times when you just have to do what's right and if people criticize you they criticize you. Instead of caving they should have just stuck to their guns and been persistent in making their case. Just be persistent in saying the Democrats are willing to "shut down" Homeland Security rather than defund Obama's illegal executive action. Just keep saying it and saying it because 1) it's the truth and 2) it would've been the right thing to do.

From what I remember hearing, every donk and 75 conk congressmen voted for the bill. 166 conk voted against it. I said it was half of the Republicans who were spineless. Make it about 1/3, at least as far as the House..

I don't even have to look to know that my Rep (Pat Meehan) was one of those 75...

Yep. The donks know they're pussies and just wait for them to step on their dicks like they do every time. You can set your watch by Boehners whimpering. :coffee:

Below is a picture of my wife's own mailing to Boehner, her Senators and her Congressman. The card reads, "Your performance on the Homeland Security Issue made me think that you could use a pair."

She mailed them today. And she's going to be trying to get others to do the same.

That'll be flagged at a suburban DC postal screening facility and likely disposed of. Good effort though.

I did tell her they might think it's something dangerous. Maybe she should've put her return address on it including "Louisiana Republican Central Committee" on it.

What a waste of time and money. Even if those reached the intended people, they would likely never see them nor would they care. Tis sad.

Believe me when I tell you guys that if you're a member of a State Party Central Committee like my wife is your opinion does matter and the elected politicians know it. That's why I say she should've indicated what her position is in that respect on the envelopes. They do not look at having members of State Party Central Committees being pissed off at them as a good thing. They may go ahead and do it because they calculate that they have to. But they'd rather not.
