His economy is in shambles that's for sure.... but I'm not sure he's losing every Chess Match

Putin is losing the short game, but winning the long game. The long game puts Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, the 'stans and Baltics back in the Russian Empire.dbackjon wrote:Chizzang wrote:

He doesn't have a long game, he's reacting, doing whatever it takes to direct the attention of the populace elsewhere. Obama is kicking his ass and theres nothing he can do about it.CitadelGrad wrote:Putin is losing the short game, but winning the long game. Why don't you give us the insiders version of Putin's master plan that has Russia in such fine shape right now? He'd probably like to hear it too...CID1990 wrote:houndawg wrote:

Not that I care about Putin or the Ruskies, but what exactly is he reacting to? It seems to me he's just sitting back enduring the bad pub. He was allowed to take Crimea. He is backing the rebels in Ukraine. Ignoring the cease fire. Ukraine is pulling back. Increasing missions testing NATO alertness.houndawg wrote:He doesn't have a long game, he's reacting, doing whatever it takes to direct the attention of the populace elsewhere. Substitute Sergey Lavrov for Putin and it isn't too far off the mark. The guy's a super nationalist, a foreign policy genius, and he's the mind behind a lot of what Russia is up to these days. Probably one of the sharpest foreign ministers out there today.Chizzang wrote:ASUG8 wrote:

Russia has their Black Sea port back. They have Ossetia. They are successfully rebuilding their eastern buffer while the rest of the world looks on. And once the oil starts flowing to China their ruble issues are going to go away. They'll have most of Ukraine soon, and then they'll start pressuring the Baltic states.houndawg wrote:Why don't you give us the insiders version of Putin's master plan that has Russia in such fine shape right now? Personally I'm glad we're staying out of it.... although we are doing it as a function of not knowing what the hell to do (as opposed to simply saying, "We aint getting involved")Chizzang wrote:CID1990 wrote:

I say we just get this over with and give them the Sudetenland right now...

Record stock market, rebounding economy, lowest gas prices in years vs. an economy in shambles, war to distract population from corrruption of the new kleptocracy, (as opposed to our wars for profit).... what do you think, G8, would our so-called leaders rather be in Putin's position or ours? How bout the generals? They'd rather have their counterparts situation than ours? I think not..ASUG8 wrote:houndawg wrote:

I'd love to hear your play by play on how Obama is kicking his ass while you're at it.

Sounds like Europe's problem.
Exactly what did the president do to make the underlined items happen? Do you really think he has an easy button next to the nuclear football that manipulates oil speculation, gas prices, and equity markets? BO can't influence his own Congress, much less move markets. At least GWB could move hurricanes (according to Ray Nagin and Kanye).houndawg wrote:Record stock market, rebounding economy, lowest gas prices in years vs. an economy in shambles, war to distract population from corrruption of the new kleptocracy, (as opposed to our wars for profit).... what do you think, G8, would our so-called leaders rather be in Putin's position or ours? Maybe Bibi can go to the Kremlin and give them a little advice...

The opposite of what caused him to be responsible for $4/gallon gas...ASUG8 wrote:Exactly what did the president do to make the underlined items happen? As for who's position our leaders would rather be in, it's always been the American one although the gap has narrowed. Russia has always shot itself in the foot with rampant corruption, crumbling infrastructure, food shortages.....that's not new and it's not anything that this president has exacerbated.
I never held him responsible for $4 gas. I'm on record that a prez has little to no impact on manipulating the business cycle. Still want to answer the question?houndawg wrote:The opposite of what caused him to be responsible for $4/gallon gas...ASUG8 wrote:

I'm telling you, she not only wears the Stars and Bars across her Grand Canyon, the wind whistles "Dixie" when it blows between her thighs

Which is kinda in line with my Sudetenland joke...CID1990 wrote:Personally I'm glad we're staying out of it.... although we are doing it as a function of not knowing what the hell to do (as opposed to simply saying, "We aint getting involved")Chizzang wrote:
