That's not the conk mantra. :dunce:

Govt run its f'ed up.
Privately run it might be f'ed up.

The ?? Is what will be the least f'ed up, the least inefficient? Some things that are fed govt run should remain so. As far as what is fed govt run, should fall under 1 of the following 4:
-remain run by the fed.
-relegated to be run by the state govt's.
-privatized.
-abolished all together.

Hell no. If anything, private prisons should be banned completely. There should be no profit in incarcerating prisoners.

And privatizing government services is fools gold - less accountability, more cost.

All privatizing that has gone on in the DoD should be reversed.

 After you add up all the costs of prosecutorial costs that (btw) are lobbied for by the prison industrial complex, private prisons are not a good deal at all. See War on Drugs and the Pennsylvania judge who was convicted of bribery in the juvenile detention case.

Privatization is not always the answer.

I don't really know what the Department of Homeland Security does - so my opinion on that matter is pretty much meaningless - but I have a DAMN GOOD idea what the TSA does

I utilize the fabulous services of the TSA every week
and have been for about 13 years (or however long they have been in existence)

Every week for 13 years isn't even the half of it...
I know very closely two fairly highly ranking TSA goons - both based out of LAX
The stories are hilarious and yet also sad

What I see and experience on a weekly basis
and what I know from others
The TSA is a train wreck
and any dollar we spend on the TSA is sketchy at best

I'm still trying to figure out how it always turns out like this.

The Republicans say "We won't fund Homeland Security unless funding is denied to certain areas related to Obama's Executive Order on illegal immigrants."

The Democrats say, "We won't fund Homeland Security unless funding is provided to certain areas related to Obama's Executive Order on illegal immigrants."

And somehow the Republican position is worse and more "political?" It just amazes me that the Democrats continue to be able to get away with this. There's a bill before them to fund the Department. It's a bill that represents what both sides are willing to fund. And they block it because they want to fund what both sides DON'T agree they want to fund.

How is it that the Republicans come out as the ones who want to defund the Department? Just amazing.

Too many dissimilar things under one roof. Just disband DHS. The components?

USCIS - Move to State
CBP - Merge with ICE and move to DoD
USCG - Move to DoD
FEMA - Move to Interior
FLETC - Move to Justice
ICE - Merge with CBP and move to DoD
TSA - Disband. Return airport security to airport-hired employees.
USSS - Move to DoD
Management Directorate - Disband
NPPD - Disband
S&T Directorate - Disband
DNDO - Move to Interior or DoD
OHA - Merge with NIH
OIA - Disband
Ops Coordination - Disband
Policy - Disband

Why not just move those back from whence they came prior to 2001?

The employer paid it. So us taxpayers paid it. So when a Fed Gov tit-sucker claims unemployment, he is just doubling down on his free-loading.
