It's not an accounting flaw and it's been the standard since well before Obama came to office.

Again, if you think the unemployment number is a lie or is flawed - just use U-6 and quit your bitchin'.

Where's the graph?

So not counting people who have been unemployed longer than a month gives us an accurate unemployment figure?

And even though one discounts actual unemployed people they still come up with the same numbers?

How, pray tell?

You posted the question twice... but, I'm not sure what you're asking.

They don't come up with the same numbers. :?

U-1 = 2.7
U-2 = 2.7
U-3 = 5.7
U-4 = 6.1
U-5 = 7.0
U-6 = 11.3

Use whichever one you like. You just have to be consistent.

It really doesn't matter which rate you use. They all show the same trend. Unemployment peaked in 2009 and has been declining. We are almost (but not quite) back to standard unemployment levels WHATEVER METRIC YOU USE. :jack:

Jesus H. Titty-Fucking Christ, you are either incredibly gullible, stupid or just willfully ignorant. The holes in the unemployment numbers have been discussed ad nauseam on this board many times.

I guess some people just believe only what they want to believe.
