If Rand had written Atlas Shrugged as a dystopic novel from a marxist perspective with the same style and characters it would be required reading for high school seniors across America, there would be countless pages of gibberish postmodern deconstruction of it in academic journals, and liberal feminists would praise Dagny Taggart as being some watershed "strong" female protagonist. Fact.

Looking to any work of fiction as some kind of prophetic Bible when it comes to governments is like taking Mary Shelly as some kind of authority on science and bioethics. And it's not something that only conservatives do.
