Not everyone is ALL bad andy, everyone has their good and bad points. If you are a normal person you have to give credit where credit is due. Just like the way the Saudis do not let women drive, the roads are safer and there is no reason dinner isnt on the table in two Sheiks of a lambs tail.

Re: Church stops funeral after realizing deceased was gay
If you actually read the article you see that he didn't refuse to continue because she was a pervert. He refused to continue because of pictures and such celebrating the perversion.
Why is it that homosexuals would insist upon something like a Christian funeral when they know damn well that their lifestyle is considered sinful in the context of Christian theology?
If you want to be a homosexual, fine. But there's no way Christian theology says homosexual behavior is OK. There are those who want to try to CHANGE it to say it's OK. But there's no way anybody can read the Bible and objectively include that it's anything but sinful according to that book.
It's pretty simple: If you want to practice homosexuality DON'T be a Christian. And don't ask true Christian Churches to endorse your sick lifestyle.
Nobody is forcing you to be a Christian and don't ask Christians to accept your perversion. Just be glad you live in a society that tolerates it instead of some place like Iran.

The family has a claim to get the money back. Churches have a right to hold funerals for whomever they want, but they can't be deceptive about it.

I agree that the Church should reimburse them since it had a week to look at the materials and say ahead of time that it wouldn't show them.Ivytalk wrote:The family has a claim to get the money back. But the guy didn't refuse to hold the funeral. He just said that certain images/videos that clearly conflict with Christian theology could not be displayed.
Again: If you want to practice a homosexual lifestyle, DON'T be a Christian. Part of any genuine Christian theology is that homosexual behavior is sinful. If you don't believe that, just don't practice the faith since you disagree with one of its tenets that's important to you.
And don't ask a Christian Church to display imaged of what it considers to be sinful behavior at a funeral.

Like eating shellfish or killing your neighbors because they create an unpleasant smell?JohnStOnge wrote:I agree that the Church should reimburse them since it had a week to look at the materials and say ahead of time that it wouldn't show them.Ivytalk wrote:The family has a claim to get the money back. Or working on the Sabbath, planting different crops next to each other or wearing fabric made of mixed materials? Oh and tattoos, and trimming sideburns. . .kalm wrote:Like eating shellfish or killing your neighbors because they create an unpleasant smell?JohnStOnge wrote:

Re: Church stops funeral after realizing deceased was gay
First of all you know better than that. But let's say just for the sake of argument that Christian theology held that you couldn't eat shellfish.Like eating shellfish or killing your neighbors because they create an unpleasant smell?
If you don't think that's valid, DON'T be a Christian and DON'T ask a Christian church to endorse eating shellfish.
NOBODY is forcing homosexuals to be Christians. And homosexuals shouldn't be asking Christians to endorse homosexuality and/or endorse homosexual behavior as though it is something to be celebrated.
But that's the thing with the "homosexuality is normal" when it's not movement. The final objective is to try to force people to accept something that's not normal as normal. For some reason it's not enough for them to be allowed to engage in perverted behavior. They want to force other people to act as though it's not perverted behavior. So they're into such things as forcing Christian florists who would prefer not to participate in endorsing perversion to endorse perversion. So on and so forth.
