FCS players in today's all star games

Post by JohnStOnge »

I'm not going to try to list all of them but I looked at the rosters for today's NFLPA all star game and the East West Shrine game. A highlight is that the West team for the East West Shrine game has three running backs listed and two of them are Zach Zenner and John Crockett. So we should get to see some FCS flavor there.

Of course I'm interested in seeing if I can spot McNeese State offensive guard Antoine Everett playing for the "American" squad in the NFLPA bowl. If someone else wants to list all the FCS players playing in each game feel free!

I'll probably watch at least some of them both now that I now there's a McNeese guy in one and the FCS tilted backfield in the other one.

The NFLPA game is chock full of FCS, D-II and D-III players.

Yes and I saw a Montana guy get a sack. Also saw him getting close a lot. Don't know if he got more than one as I left during the second quarter to go fishing. But I think if you were watching and kind of picking out players doing well the Montana defensive end kind of stood out.

Another guy who stood out while I was watching is the Southern Illinois running back.

Also thought the McNeese offensive linemen did well at least while I was watching. Kind of weird watching a football game and focusing on what one offensive lineman was doing but interesting. I don't think his guy ever made a tackle or got penetration and I saw him put the guy on the ground a couple of times. And he was matched up with a Clemson defensive tackle so I felt good about how he was doing.

Wagenmann is a beast. I'Il be very surprised if he doesn't do well at the next level.

W&M WR Tre McBride got some great positive press and likely improved his draft position from his week at the East-West Shrine game and practices.

Yes I saw him listed during the telecast as someone who likely made money for himself during the week.

With all the FBS talent in the Senior Bowl, Portland State's Kyle Loomis will be punting, this Saturday at 4pm EST on NFL Network. Mariotta is not playing, however. :D
