Way too much waiting time before this game. Play it on New Year's Eve and get it over with.

I agree. I can MAYBE see waiting two weeks to play it instead of one but I personally liked it the old way where they just played the championship game the week after the semifinals.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

The three weeks off before the championship is great. Nice buildup for the game, and it's not played during the cram all the bowl games you can into each night before New Years period, and after the NFL regular season. Lets the participants get rested and healthy and the fans time to make trip plans.

This. Not a big deal at all.

Eh, should've played it January 3rd. Waiting all the way to the 10th is just too long. It won't matter to the fans of the teams playing - it never does - and obviously it's better for those fans as they can make plans to get there, but for the rest of the FCS fanbase this game will just be lost in terms of interest or viewing. That weekend is the best NFL viewing weekend of the year, coupled with the FBS title game Monday night. Plus conference college basketball play is in full swing by then, and it's a full work week before and after that weekend. We need a thread on this board just to remind people when the game is.

Some people don't watch NFL or FBS that much. I've come to love the three week layoff, relax, spend time with family and then with all that done with, get ready for the big game. AGS is buzzing right now and will be until after the game is played. We can't control the interest of other teams fans.

If I was going, I would fly. the further in advance you book your tickets, usually the better rate you get and the more options you have on which days you fly and which days you can take off of work. Plus you are not usually competing with the Christmas or New Years holiday flights.

Like I said, for the fans of the teams involved the time off is perfect - it was a much more enjoyable buildup in 2010 for the Hens than the frantic rush that was '03 or '07. I'm just saying that the game gets lost to the fanbases that aren't playing. Plenty of people don't watch the NFL or FBS, to the horror of those sports adherents, but the number of those people who don't watch the NFL or FBS but somehow watch FCS is tiny.

So it really doesn't matter to the NFL and FBS crowd when these games are played. :D

During the Bohl era, there were Nebraska alums following his career at NDSU, but they have moved on to Wyoming.
