It's their prerogative but I think it's classless to do it at a funeral.

If only our hero Ronald Reagan were alive today to break this wretched Union
He wouldn't tolerate such disrespect

Why would troops do that to Reagan or Bush? Reagan and Bush were military supporters, unlike the current occupant of the White House.

Yeah. Bush was such an ardent supporter of the military he sent thousands of them to die for absolutely no reason. :dunce:

Funeral is perfect time to do it. Amazing show of support for the deceased and condemnation of a scumbag politician.

Though I doubt the sincerity of D1B, I tend to agree. DeBlasio very public ally turned his back on the NYPD when he felt it was to his political advantage. Had he not made those statements. Who is to say this nut case makes the trip to NYC to do this.

Every action has a consequence and potential reaction...
We can play that domino theory all the way back (one action at a time) to the Civil War

Everybody is responsible for their own behavior (Period)
To say the Mayor and his stupid political blundering is causing deaths of Highly Trained Police Officers is possibly the largest leap in blame gaming I've seen since Reverend Jackson asked for reparations

this exercise should make somebody embarrassed (but somehow doesn't)

This whole thing reminds me of the kids who shot all those other kids at Columbine High
and the media wanted to blame it on Marilyn Manson - the music they listened to

That's all fine and well, but in real life things are never that simple and you don't just get to make it simple by saying "period" after whatever it is that you're trying to oversimplify. Of course everyone is responsible for their own actions. Even in the "yelling fire in a crowded theater" the people who didn't yell fire and who are stampeding over other people are responsible for stampeding people, but that doesn't excuse the guy who yelled fire either. I'm not in the know enough on what exactly Blasio did say or did do in the leadup to the cops getting gunned down, but it's certainly plausible that someone could say something enough and loud enough and in the wrong situation that could make them a party to responsibility when someone hears their message and goes out and acts on it. Being the centrist I am, the world is full of grayness in between all that black and white you see.

He certainly stoked the fire that caused the chanting What do we want-DEAD COPS. When do we want them --NOW. And then was silent afterward. Of course you could say, he didn't have to address them. But isn't that what politicians do?

With supporters like Reagan and Bush, the military needs more enemies.

WAY few died under Reagan than under your current hero occupying the White House. WAY fewer.
