I was so pumped for this game three weeks ago...now, after watching our last two performances...I'm just disheartened. I do see us in the playoffs if we win but whether we can play when the bright lights are shining I just don't know.

I wouldn't be surprised if Robertson puts up over 200 yards rushing and nova still loses. D is weak this year. :ohno:

And quite frankly, I don't want nova in the playoffs. They didn't earn it IMO.

Hard for me to get any lather up for the Nitttany Lions anymore, but enjoy. Suspect you aren't the only Nova football fan that feels like you do. I attended all of the home games this year and the BC game too. They really didn't get any breaks on some of those close losses but I get your disappointment. Fordham and UNH games were heartbreakers. Losing Rahman and Price and half the linebacking corps didn't help either but injuries are part of the game.
Didn't they get the breaks and win a close one against W&M? Or are you only counting the close ones they lost?

My favorite "Battle of the Blue"

November 23, 2013. Villanova is down 34-12 with about 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Villanova scored three touchdowns, but fails to convert the two-pt conversion which leads to an onside kick recovered by....VILLANOVA! VU Senior Mark Hamilton's 24yd Field Goal (which could be the last of his career) is GOOD. VU wins 34-35 after an absolute dismantling of UD's offensive and defensive efforts in the fourth quarter.

UN. REAL.

This might replace the 1969 game as my favorite of the series. Robertson is just tremendous. Whata game!!!

Well, not sure if this deserves a new thread, but, any Cluckers have a scenario where the Hens come up with an upset?

Yes, but it involves a drunk priest and a car at nova's walk through on Friday.

Sure...Devine comes up with an ATTACK game plan and then doesn't stop doing what is working, and Weaver doesn't get out of bed Saturday morning.

Devine later said he might have gotten too conservative with such a big lead (ya' think), and then Robertson later said our defensive change to, "prevent" allowed him to move the ball down the field more easily.

Classic example of how we had you beat, and then got destroyed by going away from what was working. :ohno:

Not sure if you follow much UD football, but Cluck is referring to our AD's and head coach's stated policy that they think we may be competitive again by 2016. You can't make this stuff up.

"May be competitive"? That sounds definitive.

Last year was unbelievable listening to the bubble talk prior to the amazing result. Then, the Tribe gave a weak effort against Richmond in a must win game for the playoffs. Hopefully, this year will be different.

I have been following Delaware football from a few hundred miles south for at least 20 years. They likely have been our most respected opponent during the Jimmye Laycock years at W&M. I still expect them to return to the top eschelon of the CAA at some point, but I'd be frustrated too. They have especially lacked offensive firepower the last couple years. For a Tribe fan, with our offense, that it saying something. I am disappointed that the schedule has moved the Delaware/Villanova clash from the end of the season next year. Instead Villanova will have to settle for beating JMU in their last CAA contest. At least that is what many JMU fans would have you believe.

Delaware may have lost to the Tribe the last two years, but they won the big game in March. That loss will sting for a while longer......

UD had a good offense last year. Too bad you didn't get to see it. Devine decided that our best offense against W&M was to design plays that existed entirely play behind our own LOS. Nova got to see our offense for nearly three quarters before Devine went into a turtle shell. :dunce:

Our coaches suck and have no balls...no way around it.

Another exciting game in a series that has had many great games. Blue Hens deserved better. Robertson is just too good.

What is that, nine out of the last ten for Nova?

Hens shut down Robertson in for nearly 3 quarters. Then, Weaver, learning nothing, employed the famous three man rush...and then Robertson looked good again.

Something like that. These last two games were beauties. One different bounce and Delaware wins them both.

I understand you are angry and want to place blame, but this one wasn't a coaching loss. Robertson shredded the Delaware defense on the first three possessions and put up over 250 yards doing it in just 16 minutes. Sometimes you just have to give the devils his due.

And then Robertson went dormant as our DL got pressure.

We got the lead...and then, watch the replay, went to the three man rush...as we did last year.

That is coaching...the players did not decide to go three man rush.

I said before today's game that Robertson specifically mentioned that UD's decision to switch to a prevent defense last year allowed him to move the ball and win that game. That was Robertson saying that...not some internet fan. The fact that the UD coaches made a decision to go to that same three man rush defense this year, after what happened last year, is unbelievable. Same result...same coaching decision.

Tomcat-

Any word on Dillon Lucas' injury? Looked season ending as he was carted off. That's got to be tough he's your best player on defense.

Out for the playoffs unless we somehow get past the Fargo dome. They're saying he would play in Frisco. He has improved tremendously this year but Cherry is still our best player on D.
