No, no they're not. They're fighting for the guy in the bunker next to them. Period. End of story. Ain't a single one of them fighting for anything else. They're fighting for their survival.

To decide which religions and which races to eradicate

:coffee: No John... Its not
I don't think I said anything about races. But when it comes to religions: Why not?

Religion is a behavior. I realize that we have a tradition of freedom of religion. But it's as others have said: If you have a religion that calls for human sacrifice, are you going to say it's OK or are you going to say you need to get rid of it?

We need to get rid of Islam. We really do. And, frankly, I can't believe there are so many people who are not Muslims that don't recognize it. If you want to say Christianity is whacked, that's fine. But Christianity isn't the threat Islam is. Islam is totally insane. And it's insane in a way that threatens liberty in a way that no other religion does in the contemporary context.

We need to feel free to say it's dangerous nonsense and that the world would be a lot better place if it were eliminated.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

I will tell you a true story about a woman that my unit came across in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. The woman had 2 broken arms and was beaten pretty badly. The Republican Guard had come into a little town just south of Safwan and killed her husband and son and driven off or killed anyone that resisted. They had been raping her and beating her for days when they heard the US was coming in and promptly ran their sorry asses north. I still don't' know why they didn't kill her but they didn't. This woman was an Iraqi. They were a really good bunch of guys weren't they? The kind you want living next to you? The kind that should be allowed to continue to suck air? . Now, where do we start and where do we stop? I've heard the sufi's are peaceful. Do they escape the attack? How about Turkey? Someone else mentioned Dearborn, I think.

At the very least we openly say that Islam is crap and we think it should be discouraged. We go ahead and say that it is NOT a religion of peace but is rather clearly one of violence. Since we have the first Amendment we don't say it's illegal to be Muslim but we go ahead and say that if you're a Muslim you're an idiot and you need to re consider your position. We need to go ahead and call a spade a spade. That's a start, at least.

Christmas is a secular holiday, stolen from the pagans and allowed to wallow in commercialism by the christians.

And I agree this is totally silly, but schools are afraid of litigation and it's an easier path to take rather than having to acknowledge all religions.

Seriously, how do you get rid of an idea? How do you destroy thoughts? You can kill every Christian and the concept of Christianity would still exist. You can kill every Muslim and the concept of Islam would still exist.

You can argue that religions have been completely snuffed out before, but it's been during eras where religions were isolated. Our world is completely interconnected today; religions (and ideas in general) don't just die anymore. Hell, even concepts such as Paganism which were completely suppressed for centuries have re-emerged in the last few decades.

For someone who advocates a small gov't, you sound like Big Brother.

Sorry, but you aren't making any sense.

If people like you went to Iraq to save innocent people from bad guys, then people like you should continue to do that same job today wherever you are. And you should do it without regard to what the government says.

Instead, you chose to save people only when ordered to save people...and would do it again only when ordered to again.

When our government is sending in our guys to support an oppressive regime such as Saudi Arabia, while eliminating a much more secular regime such as Assad's, then we are NOT protect the interests of innocent people, despite a few individual stories. I'm quite sure some soldiers in Nazi Germany did a kid, or an innocent woman a favor...that doesn't mean they should have been invading Poland or the Soviet Union to do it.

And no, I didn't compare you directly to a Nazi. The problem is that individual soldiers continue to say that they are only obeying orders, while keeping their own personal reasons for killing people separate from the government's intent.

Hogwash. As a soldier, you are simply an expendable tool used for the purpose of someone else's profit.

It is time we call our government out for what it really does. If you want to say you fight to keep the American way, then fine...but realize that the American way includes destroying the lives, and taking the lives, of large numbers of people so that we can live our lives of relative comfort.

It is comical on a global scale that most Democrats and liberals are actually supporting the annihilation of others less fortunate than themselves, while at the same time, screaming that Republicans don't care about people less fortunate than themselves.

Schools can easily defend only celebrating/acknowledging federal holidays.
