My community has a facebook page and the people that have the Pro-Life, Republican yard signs are the ones on there trying to strengthen the HOA covenants. They have their place, but only if the rules are enforced. Some rules are dumb, for instance, it's against the HOA rules to have your car in the driveway (that's on the books in my community).

I like HOA's. There are too many fucked up people in the world whose ways of living is detrimental to the value of my house.
