Missouri Valley games 10/25

Post by Bison Fan in NW MN »

Another interesting week in the Valley. Separation week again...

League standings so far:

NDSU: 3-0
Ill State: 3-0
SDSU: 2-1
YSU: 2-1
SIU: 2-2
Ind State: 1-2
MSU: 1-2
UNI: 1-2
WIU: 1-3
USD: 0-3

UNI @ WIU: Huge game for UNI. They need a win to keep their playoff hope alive.

YSU @ SDSU: GOTW in the Valley. SDSU has had YSU's # the last few years and I think they win today.

NDSU @ USD: Can the Coyotes pull the upset? Very doubtful. NDSU wins.

MSU @ Ill State: Is Ill State for real? I'm starting to believe they are. Redbirds win.

Ind State @ SIU: Another game where both teams need a win. SIU at home.

UNI - 27
WIU - 13

YSU - 30
SDSU - 27

NDSU - 47
USD - 7

Ill State - 21
MSU - 7

Ind State - 41
SIU - 26

Big win by Youngstown at SDSU. Now SDSU comes to Fargo this weekend. With a non-counter game, SDSU really needs to beat the Bison to keep their playoff chances alive.

USD has given a few Valley teams some trouble but the Bison completely dominated them again. In the last 3 games against the Coyotes the Bison have outscored them 143-7...

Looks like UNI, SIU and MSU must win out to have a chance at the playoffs.

SDSU's non-counter game just puts them in the same boat as those schools who chose to only play 11 games this season.

Slight side note; just noticed that NDSU got 3 receiving votes in the FBS AP Poll this week.

Congrats Bison fans. Only a matter of time before you'll be vying for a spot in the college football playoff aka the SEC circle jerk.

No.

FCS teams weren't allowed to receive votes at that point.

That game created a "ALLOW FCS TEAMS TO GET VOTES" that resulted in FCS teams being allowed to receive votes about week 3 or 4. However, I don't think ASU actually got votes at that time.

UNI was the first to receive AP votes.
