And I do love these “Christians are just as evil as Muslins” threads. Pure entertainment reading the spin and hyperbole on these threads. Meanwhile, that dastardly group of armed Christian extremists in a far corner of the world are exterminating anyone in their region that doesn’t agree with their line of thinking are in lock step response to the ISIS “threat”...oh wait...

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/04/ ... AP20130408" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;(Reuters) - The Buddhist monk grabbed a young Muslim girl and put a knife to her neck.
"If you follow us, I'll kill her," the monk taunted police, according to a witness, as a Buddhist mob armed with machetes and swords chased nearly 100 Muslims in this city in central Myanmar.
It was Thursday, March 21. Within hours, up to 25 Muslims had been killed. The Buddhist mob dragged their bloodied bodies up a hill in a neighborhood called Mingalarzay Yone and set the corpses on fire. Some were found butchered in a reedy swamp. A Reuters cameraman saw the charred remains of two children, aged 10 or younger.

Re: Religion of Peace Part Deux
What's the matter with peace, love, and understanding?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-zog ... 07254.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Almost 10 years after 9/11 and seven years after the invasion and occupation of Iraq, Zogby International conducted a poll of American public opinion. What we found was frightening: 37 percent of Americans still couldn't find Iraq on a map; less than a quarter knew that Syria bordered Iraq; and two-thirds thought Iran was an Arab country. Almost half of all Americans believed that "most Muslims are religious fanatics", and almost three-quarters were convinced that "Arabs hated our values".
As someone who has spent his entire adult life attempting to understand the Arab World and to build bridges between East and West and who has worked with my brother, John, to measure Arab and American public opinion, all this was so terribly frustrating. Our polling in the Arab World shows that the overwhelming majority of Arabs love American values and culture, people and products, and the advances Americans have made in science and technology. What they don't like about us are our policies which so negatively affect their lives. Far from being fanatics, Arabs tell us that what they value most are their families and their work. They watch TV to be entertained. And their mosque attendance rates are roughly the same as church attendance rates in the U.S. But that's not what comes through over our airwaves or in our political discourse.

People should not be judged by their leaders. If that were the case, Americans would be characterized as incompetent.

Joe ,
I don't "translate" the meaning of the Bible...
I'll leave that up to the apologists like you
I just quote it as it stands
The only people revising the Bible are defensive terrified Christians
The book either stands without defense - or - it does not
If you admit that it "needs translating and defending" then we can start our discussion right there and also then admit that it is highly flawed
Otherwise: Let it stand without such a busy convoluted angst riddled defense
And we all (already) know I've read the bible unlike the VAST MAJORITY of American Christians
Q: Name something that offends Republicans?
A: The actual teachings of Jesus
A: The actual teachings of Jesus

Which makes me wonder
Will the gays from the time of the founding of the Catholic Church up until now, who are currently burning in Dante's version of Hell be released to some modern, friendly waiting room where they might eventually get into Heaven, OR... was the church wrong all along, and the gays have been decorating interiors in heaven all along, and the church of men has just been wrong all this time?
