The United States had gone to war declaring it must destroy an active weapons of mass destruction program. Instead, American troops gradually found and ultimately suffered from the remnants of long-abandoned programs, built in close collaboration with the West.

Does T'man even read the links he posts? No, obviously not. :ohno: It's great that we went to war to help destroy programs that were long abandoned. It would be like going to war to help destroy T'mans thought process.

Consensus of donks doesn't make a lie the truth.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Resolution

Read, learn.

BTW, the article links to an investigative NY Times article about Dutch CW chemical smuggler Van Anraat. There was NO U.S. GOVERNMENT involvement in the precursor shipments to Italy and Rotterdam.

Try again, Troll.

Quoted directly, word for word, from the article that you linked:

It's your article dude. You linked it, you own it. Spin all you want, I read the article, I don't think that you can say the same. :ohno:

As for personal attacks: I think that you are a whinny conk bitch.

So, a NY Times spin supercedes the actual War Resolution???
:dunce:

Specifically, this thread title states that WMD's were found in Iraq: Not, "Active chemical weapons program was found".

Or is that too "college level" to understand?

BTW, Kalm owes you a reach-around.

You started this thread based on that article; now you are questioning it? Nice!

Get back to us once you have figured out if the article supports your premise or not; assuming that you even know what your premise is. dunce:

From H.J. Resolution 114, 2002
The resolution
http://uspolitics.about.com/od/warinira ... lution.htm
Whereas Iraq , in direct and flagrant violation of the cease-fire, attempted to thwart the efforts of weapons inspectors to identify and destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction stockpiles and development capabilities, which finally resulted in the withdrawal of inspectors from Iraq on October 31, 1998;
NoBrains86, your assertions as to the reason for the post- 9/11 invasion of Iraq is a liberal meme, oft repeated, and completely disingenuous.

I have now provided you with two links providing the second Bush Administration's rationale for initiating the Iraq War.

I don't expect you'll read either, as they prove your assertion is false.

I do not agree with the editing of the NY Times article's selective discussion.

One more time...read the title of the thread.

While your circle-jerk BF Kalm endorses ignorance as an appropriate social paradigm, it should be painfully apparent from your declining reading comprehension that ignorance leads to failure.

The sentence immediately following your quote:
... But on the other hand, as the existence of thousands of hidden or mislabeled chemical-weapons munitions reported in Chivers’s article could suggest, Saddam was clearly not complying with United Nations requirements about exposing and dismantling his chemical-weapons stores, which was the legal justification for the war.

We didn't go into Iraq to protect us from long-abandoned weapons programs. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and our invasion there is still a colossal failure no matter how Tman wants to spin it. :coffee:

Huh? :suspicious:

Do you read your own sources?

The article clearly said that the one large site, where the weapons were left to the Iraqis to entomb, had NOT, been cleared. Yup, the weapons are still there...and now in the hands of ISIS.

And you think all of the bad munitions have been found and accounted for?

The Iraqis certainly know where they hid the munitions...and now some of them are revisiting those areas in order to gather some goodies for use elsewhere.

As I said, good times ahead for everyone in that area.

Read the documents released by the Pentagon. The delivery munitions included 122mm Borak missiles and 152mm binary sarin shells (Iraq manufacture).

This link display the actual 80 pages released by Dept. of Navy, the basis for Chiver's article.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014 ... -iraq.html

But again, the manufacturer of the weapons is irrelevant.

The Iraq Resolution which authorized military intervention specifically states the reasons which include:

That Iraq prevented UN inspectors from verifying Iraq's dismantling and disposal of chemical weapons, and Iraq's elimination of chemical and nuclear weapons, and program to develop those weapons.

The recovery of 4,990 chemical weapons including 500 viable mustard and sarin munitions at Al Muthanna (regardless of manufacture/origin or age), confirms the intent for our military action.

Bush, Cheney and Rumfeld were correct.

Every America hater who uttered the words, "Bush lied, people died", was wrong and owes George W. Bush an apology.

So many returning soldiers reported finding WMD's in Iraq, despite a "no WMDS" meme having become an accepted narrative by anti-Bush, anti-war protesters.

Now, NY Times confirms numerous incidents of WMD discoveries.
