That's what a lot of people are doing right now. Local company here is laying off over 1000 people, offering most the same job at 20% less with a contracting firm, and no benefits.

The point is that the relatively few jobs that are being created are shitty jobs. You libs are always bitching about the decline of the middle class, yet you are celebrating an economy in which the new jobs are those that can't create, repair or sustain a robust middle class.

Search a little further - there are plenty of good jobs out there. Being a hiring manager myself I can tell you that you're wading through a lot of muck nowadays to find good talent.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it sounds like you are saying there are a lot of good jobs but there are also a lot of people looking.

The recruiter who placed me here over 6 yrs ago called this morning to check in. He said it's a great market locally right now, and it sounds like he's killing it. With all the general negativity and organizational change here combined with poor future internal career prospects it might be time to put my toe in the water again.
