i agree with all of your argument except the above because it is fallacious

there are some pretty non- religious reasons to legislate against late term abortions

as a blanket argument, yours could be used to argue against legislating against everything from murder to rape
Why did you EDIT my post... :ohno:
1/2 the reason is religion
the other half is Women's Rights and over reaching gov't / Both are legit

And: Editing my post to make your point is shifty at best pork chop..?

Except he never said that about the Taliban.

He was referring to the Contras.

What "babies"..?
I'm totally against late term abortions
and 100% for a free country that doesn't legislate on Religious grounds (Like Iran)

OK slick, what exact day of pregnancy are you "totally against" it? What magic occurs at midnight of that day?

BTW, my stance on abortion has zero to do with religion.

I don't see what the debate is here. She certainly made a tough choice... and, one that would be far from easy to make.

Are you saying that all women should be forced into the same choice that she made?

No cancer treatment for women if it would interfere with the healthy fetus? No termination of a pregnancy in order to undergo lifesaving cancer treatments?
Nope. Just saying she's a hero.

Reagan is dead...
and attributed to so many things (on both sides) it makes ones head spin
I have no illusions about the Reagan mythology - great or evil - he was just another politician (actor)

Don't have to be religious to be against abortion. Or are you saying atheists can't believe murder is a crime? And for the umpteenth time, this is not a woman's body issue. We're not talking about removing a tumor.

But we are talking about removing a tumor... and it is about her rights and her body
and nobody likes the idea but I'm not prepared to say:
"I KNOW HOW MUCH INTERVENTION with your rights is good for me and my beliefs"

and:
BTW a huge percentage of the anti-abortion crowd (like 85%) are on Religious grounds
which of course makes them immediately irrelevant in any debate about the Government enforcing something

Maybe I misunderstood you Cleets. I thought you were talking about abortion in general. I'm not opposed to leaving the decision up to the woman in cases of her life being threatened.

He also says its not a religious issue (because Religion cannot be legislated)
So now its down to my opinion about a womans rights and your opinion about a womans rights

No Cleets and I think you know that. The debate is over whether this is a woman's right or a baby's right and you seem to switch sides somewhere during the pregnancy.

There is no magic that occurs at midnight of that day just the same way there is no magic that occurs at midnight of your 18th birthday. But sometimes we have to just pick a limit and stick with it for one reason or another.

Yeah, but we're talking about the right to life vs the right to vote. Murder vs an inconvenience. GIGANTIC difference IMO Vidav.

Meh...
Nobody thinks abortion is "good"
And a huge (HUGE) percentage of those who support abortion rights come right out and say it plain as day "I would not have an abortion" but I will fight for a women's right to make that decision on her own
