NAU..what do they need?

Looks like the vote is in and NAU wont finish in the top half.....what do they need to make them more competitive this fall ?

No they showed a lot of potential but the Big Sky is reloading all around. NAU is just picking a bad time to start playing better. I wouldn;t be suprised though to see them sneak in some upsets and maybe even make a decent conference run.

The make or break for NAU this year, IMHO, is how Herrick does. NAU has great recievers, TE, Running game.

Good defense.

Consistant QB play will go a long way in keeping NAU competitive.

Nope. QB is not enough, and with "Newcomer of the Year" Deonte Williams gone, the riunning game does not look too good. Combined with the loss of Dehaze, it's a bad sign.

If NAU can keep momentum and their offense is better than last year then who knows they could do some real damage but it is gonna be a tough year in the BSC. One thing for sure is they need to sustain their defensive intensity throughout the entire year this year for that to happen.

Nope. QB is not enough, and with "Newcomer of the Year" Deonte Williams gone, the riunning game does not look too good. Combined with the loss of Dehaze, it's a bad sign.

Running game will be fine. You forget that the only reason that Williams got so many carries is that NAU's BETTER running back, Alex Henderson, was injured.

Dehaze will be missed, but they have a few replacements tee'd up.

Ales Henderson is a salty son of a bitch and I think NAU's run game is gonna be in good hands with him in the backfield. What about the O line though? What's the status there?

They need:

New uniforms (different design)
some sort of uprgrade to that dome
make the dome more intimidating(i had no trouble breathing up there, while we beat the shtt outta NAU)
7 of the 9 Big sky teams play outdoors so NAU is at a disadvantage every home game.

Dehaze is a big loss. Heard today there may be a Div 1 transfer coming in that could take his place.

Only that they had several good candidates for the kicking jobs.
