Co-worker lives in a house that a child died in previous to him living there. He swears that toys move by themselves and some electronic toys start-up when no one is around. He's 25 and not in anyway stressed about anything.

I have an uncle who isn't very religious and very well educated who has seen apparitions of a woman in his house. His dog, ex-wife, and the previous owners of the house saw them and heard and saw things as well.

Doesn't mean that it's the "spirit" of deceased folks, but you have to admit these things tend to happen when people meet unexpected ends even when the people experiencing them have no knowledge of it.

College theology departments offer numerous courses in how to understand the Bible and, with the exception of departments at fundamentalist schools, all of them instruct the Bible must be read in its entirety, in context, figuratively and/or symbolically at times, and as an evolving statement. IF the Bible HAD to be read the way you and Cleets suggest, I doubt there would be serious study of it.

The Old Testament and the Books of the Bible are for a different people who lived in a different time
