This game is a "one and done." I hope we can schedule them again, because I think it'd be a fun series AND, i'll double my chances to see CCU play in Charleston.
When the Coastal Carolina football team takes the field this coming Saturday at The Citadel, senior linebacker Quinn Backus will formally launch his pursuit for a third-straight Big South Defensive Player of the Year award and even loftier national honors.
But that’s not what he spent his offseason thinking about, he said.
Despite being the FCS leader in career tackles among active players with 314, despite piling up those postseason accolades the last two years as a game-changing force on the defensive side for the Chanticleers, Backus instead spent the winter focused on his flaws.

Not sure what confidence you are talking about. We are just hopeful that the new staff can make up competitive in the new SoCon after a couple of years of good recruiting and player retention.

Prolly from AGS. Although CID1990 has sounded confident. or was that sounded full of shit
It was a great time and enjoyed spending some time with my hosts. El Cid threw away the first quarter and that was a monumental error. They showed they could move the ball well in the second half. The coaching staff found the weakness in the left side of CCU's defensive line but it was too late. CCU had a 17 point lead when the Bulldogs got going. It was like they didn't trust themselves.
Look for El Cid to surprise some folks this year. Top 3 team in the SoCon.

Thank you for the enjoyable evening. I really had a good time.
On another note, it was the cleanest played game by CCU I've seen. The coaching staff has you guys under control and playing great football. You may be in the playoffs again this year with that pass blocking. He had all afternoon in the pocket.
He did. But you recall, when te Citadel blitzed or put on some pressure of any kind, they were quick. They rushed the passer and did a good job at that. But stupid penalties and fumbles on their part were costly
