Sam Houston State at EWU---Everyone starts up next weekend but the marquee matchup in all of college football does involve one Big Sky team this weekend. Getting the jump on everyone is the Eagles as they entertain the Southland's own San Houston State at Cheney. Last year's opener, they surprised nationally ranked FBS Oregon State. This time, no surprises...EWU 41, San Houston State 23.

I think it'll be close (crossing fingers and toes). Lots if talent on that SHSU squad.

This. SHSU needs to test EWU's rush defense and get their QB settled in then anticipate Eastern's adjustments and take a few shots in the 2nd half. Both teams should be fast, athletic, and fun to watch.

Not a bold prediction alert: Turnovers and special teams will play a huge role.

One game, but I picked it correctly. 1-0 heading into the start of the season. If this season is like last season, this will be the only time I'm above .500.

So turnovers and special teams didn't really matter. This is why I shouldn't make predictions.
