Ugh. :ohno: Why can't we agree that no matter who is in office, the other side will paint a picture that he takes too many vacation days. Newsflash... no sitting POTUS has a single day off from work during their term. Kalm's post is as ridiculous as an R citing the costs of Obama's trips. It costs money to move the security details that are necessary to protect them. Counting all of Bush's days in Crawford as "vacation" is disingenous at best. All of you guys should be better than this. :coffee:

I agree completely Hen. I was just responding to Bronco's post. I apologize for trivializing the more important issues of our time.

Wow. For an accountant, you sure don't know much about law enforcement.
I think he has a step on you. The governor of Missouri, The Invisible Man, is yanking the locals. :coffee:

Reminds me of the Sara Silverman joke:

It is 70% negro and four of the fifty-three cops are negro.

How do you know that the Ferguson police are doing all of that? There are only fifty-three in the entire department. Most of the cops out there are Missouri State Police, St. Louis County Police and many from the surrounding suburbs. I understand that the MO State Police are running the show, since the riots are taking place in and well beyond Ferguson.

Over here the story is going around that the cop shot the kid in the back and then gave him a few more when he put his hands up. Anonymous also posted a cops name that the PD says wasn't the shooter.

Gotta hand it to the cops, they're getting real good at not having any stories with two sides. :coffee:

Hey, he resisted arrest. Which apparently means he lost his right to due process, as well as his right to life, in general. Protectors and servants gonna protect and serve.

Worked for me without problem. Looked like Anonymous took pictures inside his house from his own computers, somebody sitting on the couch, confederate flag on the wall; they sent him a note and said his old lady wasn't bad looking for her age.

...and it begins.

Rep. John Lewis, Civil Rights Icon, Calls for ‘Martial Law’ in Ferguson, Mo.
John Lewis, the Democratic congressman from Georgia and civil rights icon, called on President Barack Obama to declare martial law in Ferguson, Missouri, on Thursday as a necessary response to the blunders of local police. Lewis says the police have responded to largely peaceful protests over the slaying of an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown, with excessive force reminiscent of the 1960s.
“My own feeling is right now is that President Obama should use the authority of his office to declare martial law, federalize the Missouri National Guard to protect people as they protest," Lewis said during an interview on MSNBC. "People should come together—reasonable elected officials, community leaders—and address what is happening there. If you fail to act, the fires of frustration and discontent will continue to burn, not only in Ferguson, Missouri, but all across America.”

Gee, were it not for this article, I would have no idea that I was ruled by my local police, as it says I am. Insightful.

As for the Confederate Battle Flag, I'll be the first to say that it carries a lot of bad meanings, especially by those who used it after the Civil War, and that the use of it does need to be watched, but I think you've jumped past hyperbole when you compare it with the Swatzika. But I guess you meant to do that. :coffee:

They should've called in for help and leadership a long time ago - they've let themselves become the story when they should've looked for support from the state right away. Gotta realize when the situation is bigger than you, and they didn't.

C'mon man. You know Jon's agenda by now. No need to get riled at all. I see his threads as entertainment. He's the anti-JSO, but equal in sheer fringe entertainment value.

I think were Jon like this and so irrational. He would have never convinced me that I should support gay marriage so many years ago on AGS. Im glad I befriended him before he made such a sharp turn towards lunacy. Because I still defend that movement.

I've always been in the "if it doesn't concern me, why should I give a fuck" camp, so I've never been opposed to gay marriage, any more than I care that people fly confederate flags.
