I don't know if it's a shocker but I like that voters were willing to depart from the tradition of voting the defending champion #1 regardless of the circumstances. North Dakota State lost its head coach and the nucleus of players that brought it those three straight titles and it looks like some voters took that into account.

I'm saying that the athletic budgets of these two programs are too big to have this many down years in a row. I understand that the former coaches are somewhat to blame, but I would still expect something in the 15-25 range for this season.

It's comical that you would think the one thing we'd be surprised about is your lack of Sac State in the poll. You have Lehigh at 15. I think the large bulk of FCS fans would find that quite egregious. Even the Lehigh fans.
