But if you want to play that angle, fine, but I think we all understand what is actually going on here.. and it is more an an attempt to cover up actual conversation using a predictable and contrived method than it is actually having a valid conversation regarding very important, timely and serious real political topics, and an attempt to destroy any good, fruitful conversation taking place.
So instead of having the thread hijacked with pictures you want it hijacked with censorship to cultivate the conversation in your chosen path?

Odd irony indeed.......

Once again, there is an obvious difference between censoring "free speech" and censoring predictable posting of porno images in an attempt to spam the conversation over and over again hoping to derail legitimate discussion.

There is no legitimate discussion when it comes to the shit you post.

Isn't this a politics discussion section? Why aren't the mods warning or banning people who are spamming my posts over and over again with non-related semi porno pictures in an attempt to stop the valid discussion taking place?

You may not agree with the topics I bring up, but I am not posting girlie pics on everyone else's topics in an attempt to belittle what they are saying.. This stuff needs to stop.

I guess the moderators just don't like what I am saying, so it's fine with them, but it would be nice if we could have a serious discussion of the topics I (and others) bring up in this forum, instead of the completely predictable porn image attacks tacking place on pretty much every subject.

Isn't that why we have moderators? To make sure threads aren't hijacked over and over again?
You have to remember that these forums were created in response to ralph's authoritarian moderation of the old AGS forums. Many of us here were permanently banned for minor or non-existent infractions over there. This is the anti-ralph site, so you can't really expect anything other than permissive moderation.

Perhaps you can find ralph in whatever cardboard box he's living in now and create another site with him, where you can moderate as you see fit.
This.

Don't know if you were around or remember AGS under Ralph's ownership...extreme emotional dysfunction.

Chris created a competitive site with minimal moderation WHICH WAS THE DRAW FOR MOST OF US.

Part of this board's "style" is unchained discussion. We bitch slap each other into oblivion every day, and come back again and again. As a rule, people who cannot take a few punches probably don't belong on the internet.

Don't threaten to sue anyone, and life is fine. You can threaten to kill pretty much any of the regulars, and most will invite you out for a beer. Pull an "Opie", or threaten Chris, and the Mods will come to life.

I was not aware that happened on AGS- a forum I don't bother to visit, even though I know exists.. I have always appreciated the freedom provided by CS- This is by far the best FCS forum online and has a ton of upsides.

Ok, I am willing to concede, I may have been wrong posting this topic asking for what is essentially censorship-something I am completely opposed to. I was more particularly focusing on what is actually spamming, but I understand how there could be a fine line between free speech and spamming, so I am willing to concede I was wrong.

More than many people- I understand how important it is to be allowed to post whatever you want, and I agree, it makes for a very interesting and poignant discussion forum. This forum rocks.

I am willing to concede that I was wrong for asking for what is a kind of censorship here, even if the attempts at destroying my topics by spamming almost every single thread I created were very transparent. I see the other side of the argument here, and I was wrong. I can see the other side of the argument- What I view as "blatant spamming" could likely be the same thing that upsets others regarding my views and the topics I post, which I wouldn't want deleted on a whim.

I get it, and I agree with you that this is a great forum, and a great message board. I have always been impressed with CS as a website and a forum, and I am being honest, not being facetious here.

The only reason I started this thread was that it appeared my threads were being "spammed' with the same stuff over and over again in an attempt to dilute/sidetrack the conversation- which is fine I guess- but if that is the side-effect of freedom of speech, I will take that over any sort of censorship, I agree. I was wrong.

I appreciate the actual conversation taking place on this thread (funny how this all happened with no scantily clad women being posted). Thanks CS.com- This website is amazing, and I guess thanks to all those who are standing up for free speech, and I guess I will just have to deal with porno pics on my threads, but that is the cost of free speech these days.

Good talk everyone.

You just went up a notch in my book.
Not that my book on the interwebs is worth more than its weight in blow, but still. There are some posters here with tens of thousands of posts who will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever admit they are wrong. Good on ya.
If I wasn't so tired right now I'd attach a clad picture of Anna Kendrick going down on an owl. But I just don't have the energy.
Now, if only you could admit you're wrong about other things. Meh....in time.

Tell me where a single.. Yep, just one single...rule is broken in your threads, or how us mods treat yours any different than any other thread.

I'll wait...

Oh for reference here is a list of our actual rules

1. No below the waste nudity.
2. Follow #1
3. No illegal virus bombing of the website

Oh... Also... Bikinis are not porn, no matter what the scary owl priest in your head tries to convince you.

It really is quite ironic to see you wanting more big brother swooping in from our black helicopters for intervention and censorship.

Re: Why Do We Even Have Moderators Here?

I personally enjoy hearing an opposing point of view. Sometimes is reaffirms my original beliefs. Sometimes it dampens them a bit.

I'm pretty sure that almost all posters here are smart enough to know that Americans are not being fed 100% factual information from our government. But this also carries over to information supplied by everyone else including the global warming scientists, the NRA, rights activists, bandl, and soccer nazis. Let's face it, we have no idea about the qualifications, integrity, or motive of anyone that produces an "opinion" (theory). But we are a group that loves to laugh.
You post youtube clips of someone's theories, and we have no clue as to what amount of that is true, if any. So all we can do is take it in and mentally file it. And if there is an opportunity to make a joke, we will seize the moment because laughter is one thing that truly is real.
