This puts it back on front page news around the world and will make it that much harder for Russia to achieve it goals of annexing eastern Ukraine. With lots of western Europeans and Americans on that plane, there is likely to be much less appeasement among Western Europe towards Russia. And who knows, maybe Obama, after being asked by Ukraine for arms, will give them more than MREs.

We shouldn't get involved militarily, but we could start by giving/selling at a discount some of our older military hardware to Ukraine. They asked the US for arms earlier this year, and Obama gave them MRE's.
