$1000 per bed.WTF? What kind of bed are they putting these illegals on? 4 post with a memory foam mattress? Heck, I bet most people on here don't have a $1000 bed. They should be putting them on $50 cots. Or how about sleeping on the f'ing floor?

Most people here don't have a $600 toilet seat either.BDKJMU wrote:HHS SEC: BEDS FOR ILLEGALS CAN COST FEDS UP TO $1K

Instead, we choose the most expensive option..
And these three governments BENEFIT from this crisis because they can make financial demands as a condition of their cooperation
So deportation is one part of the process but we also need to play hardball with these governments (and we CAN because they are the beneficiaries of millions in aid and other largesse)
As liberals like to say-
this is a nuanced situation
The bed costs a reasonable amount, but all the people involved in purchasing the bed give it that higher cost.kalm wrote:Conk contractors like that mark up.houndawg wrote:

We haven't been enforcing immigration law for the past 14 years, why start now?dbackjon wrote:CID1990 wrote:

Not to mention that pesky 2008 law.
We've help make a mess in CA, and simply saying NO won't do. We have a shared responsibility for this - we've been meddling/controlling/overthrowing governments down there for almost 200 years.

BTW, I guess all the foreign infrastructure we've built, financial aid, food, education and durable goods the U.S. has globally distributed the past 200 years must have slipped your mind, Dback.
...oh wait...
...I forgot you're a self-loather. America is always wrong.
Again, why aren't we enforcing our laws? Send these kids back to their countries. I know, those countries wouldn't accept them and/or would be pissed that they have to. Well fuck that. They've sucked from the teets of the American taxpayers long enough. It's time for some ROI. Take back your kids. If you want to come to America, go through the legal channels.travelinman67 wrote:We haven't been enforcing immigration law for the past 14 years, why start now?dbackjon wrote:

What is wrong with my statement?

Wrong. Deportations are down. Way down. Obama changed the definition to included "returns", not included by past presidents.dbackjon wrote:travelinman67 wrote:

You seem to forget that deportations are up, way up.
You seem to have this pathological problem, like many on the right that not being 100% rah-rah means that I hate America - I love it more than most, and definitely more than most right-wingers, who fail to understand why America was founded (by liberals, over the opposition of conservatives, I might add).
You fail to understand as well, or simply choose to ignore, what we have done to Central America - you wet dream Reagan did a lot of damage down there.

Not Baltimore! I have a two year old license plate that proves it.DSUrocks07 wrote:200 years ago we were getting our asses kicked by the BritsIbanez wrote: 200 Years ago was 1814. We reached the Pacific in 1806.

Although you could argue that the Revolution was an overthrow of the standing government
But schematics
.
Can we get a breakdown of deportation and returns? Omalley did the same thing with murders when he was mayor of Baltimore. At Towson one of my geography books was titled How to Lie with Maps. Same applies to statistics.Skjellyfetti wrote:Ugh. I wish I could copy and paste this data and make a graph.BDKJMU wrote:![]()
There's a trend here. It didn't start with Obama. See if you can find it on your own.
