Costco Bans "America"
Re: Costco Bans "America"
I wish I could find some authors that really didn't have an overt bias in their writing but it's difficult to find. I read The Post American World by Fareed Zakaria that wasn't too bad and made some decent points. I don't mind reading stuff from both sides to see the contradictions and inherent world views from each side of the spectrum since the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
But that's a lot to ask from some folks.

In this day of age, you have to read from Left and Right leaning media outlets.ASUG8 wrote:I wish I could find some authors that really didn't have an overt bias in their writing but it's difficult to find. I find it comical when Fox News complains about the MSM. Um...Fox is MSM.

Yes. Political affiliation is not a protected class AFAIK.travelinman67 wrote:So, it's ok with you if I run my business openly discriminating based upon political affiliation and beliefs?Ibanez wrote:
Exactly. I figured Tman, if he truly cared about freedom, he would post something like,
" I don't agree with it, but it's his right as an American."
You can't say you are a champion of freedom and then get pissy when people exercise it (especially if it is contrary to what you believe).
Now, let Tman come on here, call me a liberal pussy or something like that for exercising my 1st Amendment right.

I am glad I dropped $150 at Costco yesterday. D'Souza's book is anti-American - he is the worst sort of anti-American fascist - true PATRIOTISM showed by Costco.

I don't think it's a protected class, but in California, who knows. Additionally, I bet some lawyer could argue that shes being evicted for openly praising a politician. That could work as a 1st Amendment case.89Hen wrote:Yes. Political affiliation is not a protected class AFAIK.travelinman67 wrote:

Btw, i'm sure there's some law stating you can't evict someone for some arbitrary reason.

His baited question was stupid. I'm sure he and his renter have a signed lease. If she didn't violate any terms of the lease, he can't evict her. However, a landlord absolutely can decide not to rent their property to somebody with a political sticker on their car and don't have to give them a reason.Ibanez wrote:I don't think it's a protected class, but in California, who knows. That, and he isn't preventing anyone of any political belief from entering or shopping in his stores. All he did was decide not to sell a product. You wouldn't hear a peep from conks if he stopped selling LGBT books.89Hen wrote:Yes. Political affiliation is not a protected class AFAIK.travelinman67 wrote:

I think watching the liberal meltdown from the Romney "47%" comment was WAAAAAAAYYYYY more entertaining. Except that it really mattered.Grizalltheway wrote:Indeed. I'd suggest you go first but you appear to have been fine with the results from '08 and '12.houndawg wrote:So find a candidate that doesn't make the average voter laugh to asphyxiation at the mention of his/her name.ASUG8 wrote:

They're all idiots, you just have to find the least of those. I've stated on here before that I don't know if McCain or Romney would have been better, but they wouldn't have been worse.
