Costco Bans "America"
Costco has ordered its stores to pull Dnesh D'Souza's book "America" from its shelves. Costco's CEO, Jim Senegal, is a well known progressive fellator.

Confirms what I've said for years: Progressive paradigm does not include the Bill of Rights. Book burning will be antithetically marketed as Free Speech.

This is very surprising coming from a Seattle-based company.

Exactly. I figured Tman, if he truly cared about freedom, he would post something like,89Hen wrote:Meh, it's his store.

You can't say you are a champion of freedom and then get pissy when people exercise it (especially if it is contrary to what you believe).
Now, let Tman come on here, call me a liberal pussy or something like that for exercising my 1st Amendment right.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Costco customers being smart enough to not read D'Souza?

It's no secret that the CEO is an Obama supporter, so this isn't really out of left field. But, would a Republican be outraged if Sears refused to sell Clinton's new book? Or if Christopher Conner of Sherwin-Williams denied the White House gallons of paint?kalm wrote:This...Ibanez wrote:

No, it's not ok with me but if that's how you want to run your business then who am I to say otherwise? I think it's silly to not sell the book, that's lost revenue, but it's his prerogative.travelinman67 wrote:So, it's ok with you if I run my business openly discriminating based upon political affiliation and beliefs?Ibanez wrote:

Get the business or upgraded membership and go there before 10am. Did that this morning at SAMs club. Didn't have to negotiate around a single person throughout the entire store and then walked right up to the cashier without a seconds waitCID1990 wrote:i dont shop there, eitherChizzang wrote:I love this sh!t..!!!

Republicans love Hobby Lobby (for making a decision as a private company) and hate Costco now (for making a decision as a private company)
Just another case of the "its freedom only if I agree with it" mentality that continues to be perpetuated by both sides.

Choosing not to sell a certain product isn't discrimination. Wal-Mart does it all the time, but I doubt you'll be starting any threads about that.travelinman67 wrote:So, it's ok with you if I run my business openly discriminating based upon political affiliation and beliefs?Ibanez wrote:

Super! I have a renter at my apartment who has repeatedly spoken in support of Democrats and Obama (remarked she'd vote for him a third time if he could run again ).Ibanez wrote:No, it's not ok with me but if that's how you want to run your business then who am I to say otherwise? Since you say it's ok, I'm heading over there this morning to serve her with a 30 day eviction notice.
I have rental applicants lined up around the block. With first and last monthly paid, I won't lose one cent.
Thanks Ibanez! I really shouldn't be required to rent to people I don't agree with.

Yeah, selling a book in a private store is equal to being a landlord. You hate free speech when it doesn't agree with your ideals. You aren't pissed with Hobby Lobby are you?travelinman67 wrote:Super! If you want to be a hateful dick, then by all means. However, you just admitted that you are kicking people out of there house due to their speech. That's a first amendment issue and you'd be taken to court and you'd lose. But go ahead, evict them.
