I believe we have had at least 2 good Presidents in the last 40 years, one D and one R. Bill Clinton (his performance as President, not as a human being) and George H. W. Bush.

I have no problem with the first term of W., although the second term is a different story, so I leave him off. Based upon your ideology, you can come up with others.

I did not like Reagan at the time he was in office, but looking back what he did had a much better outcome than I would have imagined.

I don't have a lot of problems with Jimmy Carter's domestic policies, but his foreign policy was a disaster.

Gerald Ford did a good job of not doing much, which helped to restore the Presidency after the Nixon debacle, although Nixon was good for foreign policy.

Obama's performance doesn't measure up to any of the President's of the last 40 years, no matter his race or party affiliation, imo.

Not really.
On June 5, 1933 FDR took us off the Gold Standard when he made it illegal for ordinary citizens to own gold bullion or gold certificates worth $100 or more and proceeded to confiscate all the gold he possibly could.
Gold was then pegged by the government at a fixed price. In 1934, the price of gold was pegged at $35 dollars an ounce. That effectively put the US under a "Gold Standard" in name only. In 1971 when Nixon finally stated that the US would no longer convert dollars to gold at a fixed price, the price was still pegged at the same $35 per ounce as it was in 1934.

FWIW, no country uses a gold standard anymore.

I dislike that we elected an unproven candidate who spoke in unrealistic platitudes and who is now being more of a cowboy in his "go it alone" approach than any president I can remember. That and his ability to paint himself as a true constitutional scholar while ignoring the document himself while allowing Holder unfettered decision making. I don't care if he's black, white, or purple, but he's making poor decisions and creating the most class and race-based divisive environment we've seen since the civil rights era.
