...Bo Levi Mitchell. Beat out Iowa's Drew Tate. So says HC/GM John Hufnagel. First opponent is the Montreal Alouettes. Third string is Bryant Moniz out of Hawai'i. Five of the eight returning teams have new starting QBs, as do the expansion Ottawa RedBlacks (Henry Burris).

Thanks for the update, SH. Nichols is also competing with CWU's Reilly for the starting job in Calgary.

Reilly just got an extension through 2016. For the first two pre-season games, Reilly started. Stats-wise, Nichols appears to have done fairly well in pre-season, though. There might be something of a quarterback controversy up there.....

Nichols' problem the past couple of years is that he's been banged up...a lot.

Unless a QB is in the mold of Young/Vick/RG3, a banged up quarterback usually signals problems with the Hammerheads....
