Wasn't it people like you saying that gas would get cheaper after we invaded Iraq? That was back when gas was less than 2 dollars a gallon in most places?
Now, it's 4.09 here in California and trending up, up, up.. so much for invading a country and getting cheaper gas - besides, doesn't this country have any sort of morality anymore? It's sickening to listen to people saying it's ok to invade nations to make our gas prices cheaper- it's even funnier when people think gas will be cheaper and then it gets more than twice as expensive than it was already- and they think us leaving will somehow make it more expensive again.
It's called supply and demand- the more countries that don't suck our dick around the world who put oil on the free market (who we don't control through companies such as Exxon, Shell etc.) via countries such as Iraq and Venezuela, the cheaper gas will be.
The more our corporations own of the global supply- the higher gas prices will be.. I'm surprised you haven't figured this out yet with the results of the Iraq campaign.
Actually on this very site:
There have been a few articles and studies posted on threads related to GAS PRICES at the PUMP
Studies indicate that
1) Gas prices at the pump are not tied to raw oil production and availability
(so its not entirely a supply and demand issue)
1.a) So now knowing it is not entirely a supply and demand product
(Much like Diamonds or Alcohol) two other things where supply and demand aren't huge factors
Q: What could it be..?
Price is controlled and structured around other variables in the global market
Key words: Uncertainty and Futures (Those two things right there are THE major factors)
You'll notice many articles and blurbs about Gas prices and Supply and Demand
However: Even the Oil processing and extraction companies admit this has limited effect on down pricing
Yes - it has an effect on UP PRICING however...
Ah... there's so much more - but who cares
