As Iraq Falls To ISIS, Obama Jets To Palm Springs To Fundraise And Golf…

His priorities seem a tad out of whack.

(Press Enterprise) – President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama land at Palm Springs International Airport just after 6 p.m. Friday, straight from a visit to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.

At 8:25 a.m. Saturday, they’ll jump over to Laguna Beach for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, followed by the commencement address to UC Irvine’s Class of 2014 at Angel Stadium.
The Obamas will return to the desert by about 2:10 p.m. Saturday, staying for Father’s Day, before flying home to Washington, D.C., about 10 a.m. Monday. It’s unclear if their daughters, Malia and Sasha, will tag along.

What is Obama’s plan here in the Coachella Valley? Presumably a short vacation, and likely a round of golf or two – though the details remain fuzzy.

In May, Obama worked about four hours a day

At the President's press conference today, Mr. Obama made frequent pointed references that Congress needs to "do its job." He also implied that he was hard at work, in Washington and the Congress should be too. An analysis of Mr. Obama's published work schedule raises some questions about the actual level of presidential exertion.

According to the White House, the President doesn't work all that much. During the month of May, which included 21 working days, President Obama claims he worked about 92 hours (91.95 to be exact). That's according to the White House schedule, posted on the whitehouse.gov Website. That equates to an exhausting 4.4 hours per day. Excluding his grueling G8 summit travels during the week of May 23 (when he was forced to endure eight hour work days!), Mr. Obama worked an average of 3.25 hours per day when at the White House in May.

You lose all credibility when you have a blog as your source. Just sayin. I get you hate the black man in the White House but dude, have some honor. He's not sitting in there watching TV all day and night. I'm not a fan of Obama, but you have to be realistic. And if he is so bad, then the Republicans have done a piss poor job of getting him out.

What happened to all the “let’s stop being the world’s police” and “having all these troops overseas is costing us trillions” from the Conks on this board? I’m not buying into the need to rush back into Iraq to squander more lives and increase our Chinese debt. How many billions of dollars were spent in support of the new Iraqi regime? And (per the posts here) their “defenses” just abandoned all that hardware at the first sign of trouble? Fuck them, and fuck anyone thinking we need to go back for a third fucking time in the last quarter century.

JFC people, fuck Iraq already. If they want us to do all their hard lifting for them then I say they are not worth the effort and they can go fuck themselves. Yeah, yeah it sucks for all those people who lost their lives (and limbs) over there and now it will all be for naught, but that the way the cookie…errr nation building policy crumbles. Bottom line is if we don’t want to be the world’s police (and we fucking shouldn’t); we have to accept things like this will happen. You can’t have it both ways.

We CAN NOT leave Iraq...
Because we have 8 thousand US OIL (Exxon-Mobil) workers there and also China gets over 50% of the Iraq oil being processed and "we work for China now" since we owe them a couple Trillion dollars

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/03/world ... d=all&_r=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"The China National Petroleum Corporation bid for a 60 percent stake in the lucrative West Qurna I oil field, a stake that Exxon Mobil may be forced to divest because of its oil interests in Iraqi Kurdistan. Exxon Mobil, however, has so far resisted pressure to sell, and in March the Chinese company said it would be interested in forming a partnership with the American company for the oil field."

The United States of America is in Iraq for ONE REASON (well actually two)
1) Oil Extraction rights
2) Keep a competitive balance against Chinese Oil extraction rights

The End... (There are no other reasons, Taliban my ass)

Yes, I’ve never realized we have been in Iraq for oil. Thanks for informing me, and everyone else who never knew this nugget.

Still not a reason to keep pissing away troops and debt into a lost cause. Of course when this brilliant administration implements an idiotic energy policy like cap and trade then there really has no choice but to keep pissing away troops and debt for the pursuit of cheap foreign energy. :coffee:

so clearly they don't know why we're there (right?)

SO I keep telling them - we can't leave - and here's why
Yes, I’ve never realized we have been in Iraq for oil. Thanks for informing me, and everyone else who never knew this nugget.

Still not a reason to keep pissing away troops and debt into a lost cause. Of course when this brilliant administration implements an idiotic energy policy like cap and trade then there really has no choice but to keep pissing away troops and debt for the pursuit of cheap foreign energy. :coffee:
I can't wait to get that oil from Iraq. Here's a little known fact, we went to war in Iraq for their oil. :coffee:

Now the Iranians might consider helping us? Wtf?! I thought Obama was against the war in Iraq. Now he wants to return our troops there? He's by far the worst president of the last 5 years. Hands down.
Turns out I might be a little gay. 89Hen 11/7/17

My only regret is that I voted for him in 2008. :ohno:

You act as if there was another option in 2008.

Now, in perfect 20/20 hindsight and knowing that McCain wouldn't have died in his first term leaving the Alaskan asshat in charge, I wonder how many '08 BO voters would vote differently today..... :coffee:
