Interestingly enough...
Those who most often ask: What is that stupid things "purpose?" while pointing at a bat or a frog...
Rarely ask: What is our purpose..? Seriously think about that in the exact same context in which you ponder a Bats purpose...

What is our purpose..? :geek: and are humans fulfilling our purpose..?

There is no purpose

Those little black plague motherfuckers serve no purpose at all...to anyone or anything.
Bats and owls are my favorite animals.

I don't know why I am so fascinated with bats though, they are disgusting for the most part

You're confusing "individual drive or Motivation" with "larger purpose"
Yes, individually there is typically only one goal - to fuck - and make more

But in the larger view - taking in the entire ecosystem at a glance was more my point

To quote the article:
Commissioners in Otero County voted 2-0 on Monday night to authorize Sheriff Benny House to open a gate allowing nearly 200 head of cattle into the 23-acre area despite Forest Service restrictions. A third commissioner was out of town for the vote.

"We are reacting to the infringement of the U.S. Forest Service on the water rights of our land-allotment owners," Otero County Commissioner Tommie Herrell told Reuters. "People have been grazing there since 1956."

But a U.S. Forest Service spokesman said the fence has also been there for decades, protecting a delicate ecosystem surrounding a natural spring as well as an endangered species of mouse from being trampled by cattle.

The dispute is the latest squabble between federal authorities and conservative states' rights advocates in the West, who want to take back millions of acres of public land from central government agencies.
First of all, a 2-0 vote.

Second, an endangered mouse? Its a **** rat...a varmint. It's supposed to die.
What's next, protecting the cockroach?

Third, if the quick little rat can't get out of the way and is squashed by big lumbering cow, it doesn't deserve to live anyway.

Wow, 200 head on 23 acres, about enough land to support two cow/calf units in New Mexico. These guys are some real stewards of the land.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

Would really depend on the land/water etc but that does sound like a hell of a lot of cows or there are some zeros missing somewhere in the acreage.

I have 20 acres of excellent pasture and plenty of water and couldn't sustain 10% of that load. No way these guys would treat their own personal land that way. A textbook case of a couple of so-called rugged individls having a tantrum. By god they gonna show them tortises

Arrests made over the protests.

No surprise that one of the guys arrested is the son of the doctor who killed himself after being charged with trafficking artifacts looted from federal land.
