Let's all get worked up over Allen West's repeat of Breitbart's duplication of a Chicago Tribune's debunked article from June, 2013. That article was pure speculation, since Jackson wasn't convicted until August of 2013. He won't be eligible to apply for a pension until 2021, and he isn't eligible for disability now that he has been convicted. But who cares about facts. Just use the present-progressive tense of the verb “to receive”, make the headline read “gets”, attribute it to “Breitbart reported”, and it's just like reality. Thanks Mr. West, did you get paid for this

Jackson did submit an application for FERS Disability prior to resigning, 16 days after being indicted, through his attorneys, as a condition of his plea agreement. His felony conviction does not preclude him from receiving either a Disability benefit or his Congressional pension. While the Feds declined to confirm they are currently making payments, Snopes concluded it is possible that Jackson is receiving the Disability payments.

I don't have a problem with the POTUS golfing. They all do it. Obama a little more than his predecessors, but if that is how he lets off steam I don't have a problem with it. Lord knows he surely has some steam to let off.

My only issue with it is that he picks some peculiar times to go hit the links. Usually when there is a crisis brewing, Obama goes golfing. His judgment when it comes to optics is lacking.

THAT, if any, should be the only sticking point. And you're right, there are times to put away the Big Bertha and buckle down in the Situation Room. However, he's the POTUS. Just b/c he's on the golf course doesn't mean there isn't an entourage behind him with all sorts of COMMS, keeping him connected and in the loop. Obama plays golf, Bush went to Crawford. There really isn't a difference. Both is how those guys relax.
